BARRY VS. MITT; LIVE WIRE OR KING KONG VS. GODZILLA

    King Kong vs. Godzilla

Okay, so The President of the United States of America is going to face a capitalist who loves to fire people and has friends who own sports teams!

Nobody else stepped up so I shall continue to present a more communistic view of the universe.

We shall begin in less than 90 minutes; unless they need a new chair for Candy or Mitt gets lost in some entourage.

I shall add to this original blog until the stroke of 9:00EDT PM as genius grabs me.

Then I shall be commenting to myself; unless others show up of course!

Chris Matthews (the balding guy on MSNBC who has only 150 long strands of hair on his forehead) tells us that Barry must step up and show America what is what. And Chris is yelling at some repub front about lying and such.

Halperin and Feinman and their ilk are warning that Barry must not kick Mitt in his private parts or point out that Mitt is a billionaire with no sense of humanity because then America will think that Barry is mean and then the more scared Independent Americans (what is an Independent American anyway? I mean South Carolina was made up of a lot of Independents when they fired on Ft. Sumter for chrissakes!) will eschew our Commander & Chief and seek the solace of a die hard capitalist as a man of empathy and other fine facets.

@ 7:00 CT my hero Rachel shows up with her entourage (I finally figured out how to spell entourage) and she welcomes Chris and he begins by talking about 'soul' and spiritual revivals and....'strong defense he says' I saved this nation and....I think he already has lost five or ten of those long hairs.

I'm almost too skeered to watch the debate, Mr. Day. But, I will.

You know, it used to be I never watched the debates, preferring to read a transcript after the event. I thought it gave a more pure representation of what happened.

    I have revised this method.

A lot is lost with the elimination of voice tone and facial expressions...especially tone. The mugging and glaring and pointed looks distract me from the essence of what is being said but for me, listening to the timbre of voice, the conviction that comes through the voice box, is how I measure the truth and sincerity of what is being said. Of course, political speech is a liar's game, but it's all they're giving me.

So, I think tonight I will tune in, close my eyes, and take my chances that I will not have to run for the Maalox half way through.

    HAHAHAHAHA

Oh Flower, me and Ramona already admitted our skeerdness in some other blog.

    hahahahahahah

Now I think we might have some fun.

Pundits are idiots and so am I! ha

    Let us proceed!

7:08 CT: Ed shows up and blovates. I must disclose that I like Ed and watch him all the time but then again, I blovate too!

Go for the jugular is what Ed says!

The repub who had that bald guy play him in the movie is 'articulating' and such. I think his goatee is a little scrawny?

The Reverend Al shows up and says:

    Hey broaden the ring.

Okay, now we are into a Frazier/Ali scenerio.

Chris Hayes is the only guy on the panel who knows what he is going to say but the Rev will not shut up.

    MORE TO FOLLOW

Oh I have to stop here and note that Todd is here and we are discussing the LAST TIME:

Well, something very weird is going on with my TV.  It won't let me watch MSNBC.  We have satellite up here in the boonies, so we're used to pixelation, but the weird thing is that it's only happening on our big TV tonight (the one I want to watch, of course), and both Current TV and C-Span are pixel-free, for some reason.  I really preferred to watch the debate on MSNBC but it looks like I'll be watching it somewhere else.

But at least I can watch it.  Yes, I'm still scared but I'm going to try to be brave.  I'll know within the first 10 minutes or so if I have anything to be scared of.  We'll see.

    It matters not.

As a matter of fact it would be better if we discuss this silliness from different 'perspectives' really.

I mean, if I have any idea whatsoever that Obama is going to win this election, I will watch FOX  on November 6th just for fun!

Besides Genghis is going to post and few folks will discuss this matter on my post.

    hahahahah

Ramona, I'll wait until it's been on about ten minutes, you post if it's 'safe' to watch and if not, I'll just forget about it and visit the island of Denial.

Will do, Auntie.  My daughter is doing the same thing.  I have to let her know if it's safe to watch.  lol.

Hey Richard. I was hoping to live blog this one. Is it OK with you if I put up a blog post? It will be like simulcast.

Genghis it is your blog site not mine.

    Of course!

    Hell we can compare later!

did anyone ever suggest to you that you spell your name in a strange way!

    hahahaha

I see, a gloves off match it is. What kind of name is Day is anyway? I've seen more consonants in middle initial.

I was referring to Genghis for chrissakes.

I mean Woleraichg...whatever...I mean what strange name.

You know phone salesmen in India always ask me

HEY HOW DO YOU SPELL THAT

I say like today you Asian idiot.

    hahahahahah

No which channel to watch dilemma for me. It's CBS or nothing. No NBC, ABC is sketchy most of the time. Well, there's PBS I s'pose.

    Anyway.

    I'm gonna go make popcorn.

why is it that I like that damn chef anyway? My grandpa actually came to Ellis Island from Norway in 1909 for chrissakes.

But I cannot help it, He makes me laugh and he does not smell like beer and urine.

    hahahahahaha

    1974 Trope! hahahahaah

I do love this take, no kidding.

But damn I loved the Cars for chrissakes.

    hahahahahah

How can you be serious about retro in 1974.

    hahahahahaha

OHMYGOD I AM SO DAMN OLD!

    I don't care. I love this take.

    Thank you

1974 - a year when a song like The Streak could be a hit.  Harbinger of what we could expect from the internet I suppose.  It was a year that began with one of the greatest songs of all time by one of the greatest of all time in my opinion.

And brought us a song that sometimes reminds me of this political landscape

CROCES is great but i like this take on the last one.

    Less 'tongue in cheek' ?

    Anyway thanks Trope!

Well damn you, you're making me all nostaligic - thinking about those who led me to who I am, all melancholy with a sense of hope, in all that contradictory glory

8:04 CT, okay Mitt really does give a damn about those who have their degrees, we shall not be like we have been for four years, and in 2014 he shall make sure that the idiot asking the question shall have a job.

    GOD I FEEL BETTER!

Okay, Obama sounds hyped.  Really hyped.  Is that good?

Candy, what Mitt just said is garbage! hahahaha

There is no five point plan!

Folks at the top do not play by the rules!

    ALRIGHTY THEN!

Lying sack of shit Romney (heretofore LSOS) still has not said one specific thing he would do in response to question of what he would do to generate more job growth.  Passed on it a 2nd time as well.

Like I said at Mike's post, Candy got Mitt to shut up!

Now I am watching Barry @ 8:14 demonstrating that we have more oil production.

Now Mitt says, not on Fed land...what in the frick is the ocean?

    WHAT A DAMN LIAR!

Romney's talking about coal.  Not sure that's smart.

I can't believe how many times I said tonight "you lying sack of shit!"

Yes.  Our 14 year old son saw a side of me he is not used to seeing.  His usually quiet, low-key, and stoic-in-the-face-of-aggravation dad temporarily transformed before his very eyes into...I don't know what, but calm, dignified, civilized fatherly role model, not so much.  It was either half a dozen "You LSOS!" eruptions or my head was going to explode from so much mendacity compressed into 90 minutes.  Or else I just would choose not to watch it, another and perhaps the wiser option for me last night.

Me too stilli our daughter had it on when I got home last night, yay. She was incredulous and when the debate got to Libya she yelled out, oh snap, pwnd!  My oldest son  live blogged it on facebook and all his friends were rocking hard on that debate. I'd take screen shots and show you all but it takes too much work to black out all their names.  It was fun to read their impressions of last night.  He did post this immediately after the debate though:

Oh Stilli I do not know if you will come back for this but last week I take a walk and I come back with groceries and this nice elder lady is sitting on the bench in front of our pond.

She has her dog sitting next to her and she is musing out loud.

She looks up embarrassed and says:

Well...sometimes I speak with my dog!

Oh that's okay, I told her, I talk to my television all the time.

    hahahahah

Talking to it seems quite healthy...giving it the finger and screaming at it? Not so much! Not one of my finest performances, but I was pissed. Still am.

    HAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAAHAH

Hard to imagine, me bein' such a sweet little thing and all, huh?

    Hey, Aunt Sam!  It's okay!  I think. . .

okay, I've turned it on, Romney is spit balling and lying.

    Of course.  Grrr.

8:21 CT Obama is holding his own! He is directly attacking Mitt!

The other half of the energy equation!

    Wind power

    ha

Obama is doing exactly what he needs to do.

So far.  Romney's going to bully his way through.  Hope Obama sustains.

Romney just showed his bully side

I would just like to say that Romney is a complete douchebag.

    eggactly

    Bwak?  Is that you? ;)

just someone influenced by the great bwak

Romney is NOT answering the questions in a way that any middle class person could benefit from. What a creeeeeeep!

    Seconded.  And a liar, too.

The average does not have much in interest, capital gains, etc.  He's once again not committing to a dollar amount for deductions, a week ago it was 17k.

Now its 25K "just throwing a number out there"

    "Romney's allies in Congress..."

    perfect

8:30 ct I caught that tooooooooooo!

Tie the Mitt to the repubs.

WE DO NOT HAVE TO LIVE LIKE THIS!

Oh my god, I am about to throw up and it has nothing to do with whiskey!

I spent my life in the private sector when I was not in Paris avoiding the draft or in college taking daddy's monies...

    Now comes Barry

No estate tax no corp tax no....

now comes the military industrial complex....

    okay

Yaaaay!   Barack is giving specifics that anyone can understand.

    yes.

    I caught that tooooooooo Cville!

We need to hear about the 47%.  I just heard Romney say he cares about "cracking down on China.  If I were Obama I would ask Romney if he wasn't concerned about those jobs of all the jobs held by people in China that he worked so hard to create.

Romney is reduced to a CEO talking to the little people telling them what it "really" like

Candy just set up Obama up for the spike.

    NOW BARRY CONFRONTS MITT DIRECTLY!

    ALL RIGHTY THEN!

    Romney is tanking

    No details.

Oh, Mitt, do you really want to talk about your "successes"?  Fact-checkers have already been through this.  You're LYING.

    Romney is so failing.

YES YES YES AND CANDY SHUTS THE BASTARD UP! HA

There's no shutting him up if he feels he wants to talk.  He's privileged, you know.

    And now equal pay......YEAH!!!!

    YES AND GRANDMA TOO!

    HA

    Perfect response.

    Oh jesus...what a pathetic response by Romney..."it's a play?" - he's coming across a pressing the response.

he won't say he will support Ledbetter.  Bomb.

Genghis is live-blogging, too.  I'm going back and forth.  I'm getting dizzy.

I KNOW BUT THIS IS FUN!

    I love two blogs!

    Link?

I can't multitask, sadly. It's all I can do to keep up with the live blog. Over and out.

Romney can't claim Lily Ledbetter.  Nyah nyah.

All right!  Planned Parenthood!  Let Romney get out of that one!

    Child care credits!  yes!

    All's right again.  Whew.

8:47 I love jobs, I need jobs, I want jobs, I have to do a big job right after this debate....

    Bravo Obama Bravo

I do not think Barry is doing that bad! No hems or haws or SNL crap....

Now he attacks Mitt directly over his investments in China.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAZHH

Romney "I came through small business" - Really?

Well then we are not sure what kind of small bizness Mitt was involved in  when he was in Paris.

9:07 CT and now Mr. President delivers and hits Mitt with his own top advisor. !

    ha

Mitt 9:12 must go back to 1979--Las Vegas and fun times for our Prez whilst I sat with my propagandists and did the best we could to bring disgrace upon my country.

    WHAT A PIECE OF .......

Bengania - Romneuy is what? can we say fumbling? Oh jeez...Isreal....Applogy tour....

    Obama won Benganzi

I think he did too Trope.

I think he went ahead on that one issue and we shall see tomorrow and at the end of the week.

    He hit the bastard well!

He pulled himself up to his full height and smacked that mincing twit across the face.  It really was almost as if he had done it physically.  And Romney richly would've deserved it if it had been physical.  I'd been wishing Obama could just smack him over and over again.

See I am going 60 miles an hour without a parachute.

I hereby render unto Anna the Dayly Line of the Day Award for this here Dagblog Site given to all of her from all of me for this gem:

He pulled himself up to his full height and smacked that mincing twit across the face

    hahahahahaha

    That's a good one!

Well I am honored.  Many thanks.

OH WE HAVE APPLAUSE AT CANDY DEMONSTRATING THE LIES OF MITT.

    9:16

MITT says we need more parents to help us against gun violence.....

And if the parents get married well they will not shoot anyone...

    and.....

    FRICK MITT!

    9:21

Romney is tap dancin' fast as he can about these assault weapons and Candy corrected him about them being banned.  heh.

    9:25 CT

    This time Barry interrupts Candy!

    This is of import.

    It really is!

Now Mitt as a true hypocrite is talking about the sinning capitalists who go off shore.

    THE DIRTY LYING SOB....

    god i hate this guy.

    hahahaha

He wants all of us, 100% of us, to succeed.  He knows how to grow this economy and create jobs.  He knows how to get us on track to a balanced budget.  He knows how to do all these things.  He just won't tell us.  The guy just does not answer the questions.  On many he does not even come close.  He just utters one non sequitur after another.

If you want no one left  behind - vote OBAMA

    REAL TWO MINUTE WARNING.

    Barry is on his own.

    No stuttering.

    No hemming.

    No hawing.

WHAT IS AT STAKE IN THIS ELECTION.

Mitt loves his family and 47% and frick Mitt.

    hahahahahahahahahah

I cannot wait for my liberal pundits.

    hahahahahahah

    Rachel likes it.

Chris likes Candy but calls Mitt snippy.

CHRIS IS REALLY REALLY HAPPY WITH BARRY!

    Chris says Obama wins 7-1-2

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHH

    THE LIBERALS ARE HAPPY TONIGHT

This liberal is darned happy, too.  I didn't realize I was holding my breath until two minutes ago.  Wooooossssshhhhh.

HE'S BACK!  I'm feeling so much better, but geez ironically it seems CNN (Candy's station) is giving kudos to Mitt - I turned them off.

    Turn it off.

    We shall see tomorrow.

    HUFFPO, DAILYBEAST, WASHPO, SLATE.COM....

I think this turned out just fine Auntie!

Really?  CNN thinks Romney actually made points?  Okay.

OH WE HAVE TO TELL FLOWER ALL THIS.

    HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAH

Even Rev Al is happy, well sort of.

    hahahahah

Yes, where IS Flower?  I want to know what she thought.

The tee vee and pc are in different rooms and I can only be in one place at a time. smiley ... Shift+R improves the quality of this image. Shift+A improves the quality of all images on this page.

On a scale of one to ten, Obama gets 4 and Romney gets 3. Why the low scores? On the very first question, neither one of them really gave a proper answer.

The question askers at this town hall wanted concrete answers. Their questions were NOT ethereal suppositions. Where is my job, dudes? I got educated. I sought career advice. I followed the rules. Now, where's my goddam job?

It seems like they both got off point on most of the questions...it wasn't just the first one.

Yes, they got their licks in but I, personally, wasn't looking for regurgitated stump speech.

I am not exactly disappointed...the President put the proper amount of ginger into this debate and I believe he will be rewarded by a bounce in the polls...and Romney didn't enhance himself by his insistence on driving over his time limits, but neither one of them made a case for being human. No warmth. Just the facts, ma'am.

The questioners were looking for humanity as well as answers. I don't think they got what they were looking for.

I doubt neither one of them converted any undecided voters over to their side.

At the very end though, the President got in a mention of the 'free enterprise' system. Now that might send him some undecideds, especially those of the bootstrap hauler variety.

Although I'd say the President won this, there was a lot of space left in that room to fill with more than statistics.

    There ya are! damn

    Ramona was lookin for ya.

    hahahahaahah

    This is fun, aint it?

    Thanks for joining in.

    Feels like the old Cafe!

Over!  Much tougher, much stronger.  At least a draw although honestly I am way far gone and invested my own commitments, hopes, etc. to try to guess what other people will think about it.  I saw Governor Romney assert over and over again that he "knows" how to create jobs.  I did not hear a single coherent, intelligible word out of his mouth as to how he would do that.

Yes, I can pick at Obama on a number of fronts just like any of us could many times over, I am sure.  I just want him to mention once in a high profile setting like this that he supported the American Jobs Act, which would have put a bunch of people to work and helped grow the economy and the Republicans blocked it.  Just once.  It would have been helpful in responding to the college student begging, on behalf of his generation, for a light at the end of the tunnel, something in the near term to help get a start in the workplace.  I didn't get that and that's frustrating to me.  It's the single most concrete thing Obama is already on record as supporting, and which Romney's party has blocked, that a viewer with the policy grasp of a tree stump could grasp.

But overall I'm not in a mood to dwell on or emphasize criticisms.  I'll gladly take that showing from Obama.  I think he acquitted himself well and thank goodness called Romney on a bunch of his lying -ass phony shit.  Romney came off to me as an empty suit--nothing go on up there, lots of hot air and bombast and hucksterism, his stock in trade.

    YES, YES, YES

Obama redeemed himself by saving the 47% remarks until last, when Romney couldn't rebut.  Perfect.

    Yes indeed.

ANNA, MSNBC has just put together a better video display than I ever could within the time provided.

Nobody knew what the answers would be, not really.

    MSNBC is tops!

CBS flash poll, 37-30 on INDEPENDENTS (whatever that means) for Barry!

Andrew Sullivan is happy for chrissakes--not just happy but ELATED!

Glad to hear he's come back in from the ledge.  I've been getting concerned.

11:14 CT: This is soooooooooo much fun.

    Everybody probably went to bed.

But damn, My President won this thing.

And except for FOX and rush and beckerhead and savage or whatever....watch those polls.

    Please watch those polls.

We have 6 days? till the next debate and 21 days to the election?

Barack just won an important Supreme Court victory yesterday.

Ohio has to keep polls open on Saturday and Sunday just before the election.

THIS IS A BIG DEAL since My President is beating the forces of evil by 59%-31% in the early voting.

    WE HAVE A SHOT FOLKS.

MAKE SURE YOU GET OUT THERE AND VOTE!

    the end

Except I feel really really good now.

Oh, yeah!  Thanks for 'hosting' the party, it was great (just like President Obama)!cheeky

This is the most fun I have had in a long time.

And Mike was very kind to me, he got more hits of course; but damn.

    This is fun!

Our side won tonight Auntie. ha

Forget our side. I won, case closed.

(Truth be told, I only got more hits b/c people had to keep refreshing to read the live blog. Plus some google hits from folks wanting to see Romney with no pants.)

dd, Here's a party favor you will really like.

    http://bindersfullofwomen.tumblr.com/

    Enjoy.

    hahahahahahahahahahahah

There is Paula; WITHOUT ANY BUTTER.

    hahahahaha

Oh and who bothered to watch this fun?

    http://blog.ctnews.com/politics/2012/10/16/obama-romney-rematch-could-set-tv-ratings-records/

AN AWEFUL LOT OF FOLKS DECIDED TO WATCH THIS BATTLE!

    Awe full, for sure!

    This is goooooooooooooooood.

    I hope I wasn't a lead balloon.

Believe me, I'm very happy how the debate went. President Obama brought one of his better games tonight and he did a good job, made a lot of folks happy.

But, I'm not too worried about how the dedicated Dems are reacting. Obama already has their votes. What concerns me is the undecideds, that fine sliver of voters, probably in Ohio. (In my heart I believe they have already made up their minds, they just can't verbally commit. Of course, who am I to talk, being an independent and all.)

This was the debate that would have brought uncommitted to decide. This was the one where the common folks got their chance for input. I'm sorry, but I really think both candidates kinda blew it.

Again, I apologize for being a wet blanket. I'm happy on the inside. Really. I am. laugh ... Shift+R improves the quality of this image. Shift+A improves the quality of all images on this page.

My spidey senses say Obama has this one.

I always laugh at that moniker.

It must have been 1959? and I am standing on a dock not that far from where I am right now and I am looking at a strange phenomena in the sky around dusk in August? and I keep marveling at what I am seeing and I will not shut up.

Don't be a wet towel, my mumsy says.

    My older sister says:

    That's a wet blanket ma.

    hahahahahahahaahaha

Venus looked as large as the moon. I swear to God!

Flower you have never been a wet blanket or a wet towel. hahahahahah

    Thank you for joining us!

A shot from Obama heading to tonight's debate

Read the subtext for my final verdict on the debate

Say, if anyone wishes to go back 30 months.

    THIS WAS FUN!

I have been fun lately, but 30 months ago, this was fun!

And with Cruz and Rand and a bunch of other miscreants. hahahaha

In 2015, well take a look.

I took a look.  It was a good debate.  Next fall we will see the clown car rev up their debates.  That should be a real spectacle.

Oh it was so much fun!

I really do wish that Cruz appears with Trump and Saint (whatever his name is) and Curly Rand and Jeb and scores of others. hahahahah

    Talk about clown cars?

how in the hell did you find this?

Well I guess I pointed it out.

Genghis was doing his own thing, after asking my permission (like I am the guy to go to?) and it was a fun night on both sides.

The funniest part of all of this was when Ramona decided she was getting dizzy going from one blog to the other. hahahah

And Mike W won that night. And that was fine with me. We got everyone to participate.

I had alluded to this in some comment in the last few days.

I hope we can do this again, for real.

I am sure we will do this during the next debates.  To tell you the truth I don't think Cruz will last until the debates.  Walker and JEB will face off.  JEB is better at debates then Walker.  Walker don't think well on his feet.  All the excitement will be on the Democratic side.
