According to a senior law-enforcement official, the tape shows Kelly sexually assaulting an underage girl.
We all knew McCabe would take aim at Trump in his book, but his contempt for Sessions is staggering. Depicts him as addled, fixated on immigrants, racist. My review of the McCabe book in WaPo https://t.co/nEMmQXvJ07

House Democratic leaders have a rebellion in their ranks. And there’s no easy way to quash it.
House Democrats have repeatedly faced surprise Republican floor attacks since taking control of the chamber, part of a bid by the GOP to target their most vulnerable members and fracture the party. Just six weeks in, the GOP effort has been an astonishing success — dividing Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her top deputies and pitting members of the freshmen class against each other.

The House voted Thursday night to approve a border security deal that prevents a new government shutdown in a 300-128 vote.
The vote sets up President Trump to sign the legislation — and to declare a national emergency as a way of getting more federal funds for his wall on the Mexican border.

The president brags about U.S. prosperity. But conditions improved more under his predecessors. (Even Carter.)

Such a great single point, deserves a news link of it's own: it's the "Mr. Deeds Goes to Washington" thing, stupids.
For those wondering why Ocasio-Cortez has gained such a following. This is a big reason: She displays genuine shock at Washington practices that are considered standard to insiders but are shocking a large number of average Americans. https://t.co/S9rh36dwlA
According to statistics from the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals, twice as many farmers in Illinois filed for bankruptcy last year. Data from the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals shows farmer bankruptcies in Iowa went up 96 percent.
Farmers have difficulty managing among sinking commodity prices, China's tariffs, and increasing agricultural competition from Russian and Brazilian producers. A spokesperson for the National Farmers Union says prices will likely continue to drop for years to come because of the U.S. losing its reputation as a reliable trading partner.
Ilhan Omar needs to remember that most American Jews are Liberals who support a two-state solution. AIPAC is an organization of rightwing activists who only represent the Likud party and Netanyahu. The real force that she faces are Evangelicals. Evangelicals are actually gleefully awaiting the Rapture and the vaporization of Jews. If she can adjust her message, she can force a debate about how far the United States is willing to go in supporting Israel and the treatment of Palestinians.
But what this whole episode has mostly revealed is how insanely narrow the debate over the subject of Israel is in Washington.

Whatever is going on, I noticed at the end of the WaPo article on it, they've decided to milk the attention on their website:
So maybe they have aliens, or know Armageddon is upon us, or maybe they don't.

P.S. When I saw on twitter that the local post office was also evacuated, I immediately thought: possible anthrax letters or mail bomb, that's how my conspiracy thinking goes, it's very plebian, not very imaginative...

Sure when a secret delegation of extraterrestrials arrives from space for a top secret diplomatic conference on interstellar issues they close down the observatory to hide their arrival. Then they want us to come and support them after the extraterrestrials leave. I think not!

I am suspect of your motivation for this comment, you being an expert in courting tourist dollars round those parts of the country. Makes me curious which would be the larger demographic, ghost hunters or alien hunters....a Hollywood producer would surely have those figures at the tip of

I was surprised and amused by the large number of people coming though who asked me for ghost stories.

Try "Pedro Paramo", one of the greats.

I read and reread a few books on the history of Ruby, Arizona just so I wouldn't look like an idiot when people asked me questions. I suppose I should read this novel so I have answers to the questions of a different segment of visitors. History is written by the victors, a lie written by and for the powerful, so who's to say which has more validity. The history books I've read or the story of Pedro Paramo.

You mentioned ghosts, I give you ghosts. The land is full of them. Lies? Truth? I'd say it's just a story but "just" is demeaning. It's a story. Perhaps another way to talk to your guests, perhaps your own enjoyment, perhaps nothing. Perhaps you're ready to provide your own answers and don't need anyone else's.
