Don Jr went to UCLA in Westwood to promote his new book, decrying how the Left silences
free speech. He was shouted down by the alt-right and exited the stage early.
Donald Trump Jr. and Trump campaign senior adviser Kimberly Guilfoyle came prepared with snappy rejoinders for liberal protesters who might taunt them on Sunday at the University of California at Los Angeles, where they promoted Trump Jr.'s new book, “Triggered: How the Left Thrives on Hate and Wants to Silence Us.”
But when unruly heckling drowned out the couple’s answers, leading the pair to walk offstage, it wasn’t leftists who cut the event short. Instead, the rebukes came from a crowd of young people who rank among the most ardent and extreme supporters of President Trump.
As first reported by the Guardian, a number of conservatives — some in Make America Great Again caps and pro-Trump attire — began to shout at the president’s son and political adviser 20 minutes into an event moderated by Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, after learning a question-and-answer session had been canceled.
'Out now': Protesters gather at UCLA as Donald Trump Jr. speaks on book tour
Video from the event showed a chant that started out as “U-S-A! U-S-A!” turning quickly into angry cries of “Q-and-A! Q-and-A!” Minutes later, Trump Jr. and Guilfoyle stormed off the stage.
The chaotic scene contradicted Trump Jr.'s central thesis that liberals have grown so intolerant of dissenting voices, conservative politicians can no longer engage in civil discourse. It also exposed an increasingly hostile fissure between conservative student groups like Turning Point USA and a hard-right faction of young Trump devotees who have flocked to self-professed “American Nationalist” Nicholas Fuentes and his “America First” movement.

Very interesting development: Trumpies devolving into competing purist tribes and thereby diminishing the unity effect!
I went and read the Guardian article that WaPo cites several times; it has some more detail, including how the liberal protestors there wisely didn't take any bait intended by Don Jr.
And then I noticed this Nov. 8 op-ed on the side menu suggesting the liberals on The View basically were far less savvy than those protestors:
Donald Trump Jr wants to trigger and expose liberals, and they’re letting him
By Poppy Noor A war of words on The View showed the president’s opponents falling straight into his son’s trap
But as a cynic about teevee talk shows, I should also say: maybe they were being savvy as to encouraging ratings for drama queen argument, rather than having sincere concern about actual political topics. I.E., don't feed the troll unless you're looking for spectator clicks.

Worth thinking about for any candidate wanting to break through the media, find a public following. A few tweets, a few debate appearances ain't it. Gotta shake that tree, shake that ass.

Nov 10Our problem is not with
@DonaldJTrumpJr
who is a patriot— We are supporters of his father! Our problem is with Charlie Kirk’s TPUSA organization that SHUTS DOWN and SMEARS socially conservative Christians and supporters of President Trump’s agenda. We are AMERICA FIRST!

The alt-right is in the beginning stages of a purge. This is RINO on steroids. Let them destroy each other. Nats fans booed Trump and the Nats won the WS. Alabama fans cheered Trump, slashed the Baby Trump balloon and lost to LSU, a good omen.
