The intra-Palestinian meeting in Moscow has precedent
— Hanna Notte (@HannaNotte) February 29, 2024
Russia's hosted such meetings in the past, most recently Feb 2019
Russia has long lamented the US' "monopolization" of the peace process & tried to carve out a niche for itself: mediating among the disunited Palestinians/2

A mass expulsion of Afghan migrants could destabilize the region and fuel radicalization. The West should pressure Islamabad to change course.
All eyes on #Chad right now
Chad has two internet trunks coming into the country: One from the Red Sea via Sudan; the other from Cameroon. Not possible for the totality of the country's internet network to be shut unless done centrally. A lot of rumors swirling; few facts. https://t.co/N6bDJZ2ixO

Coney's such a freak - "Biden should think about pardoning Trump"? Comey couldn't even let go of Hillary *twice* when they found nothing worth prosecuting, and he let Trump roll him the first month in office, however clever he thought he was.

go to the embedded link to Jan. 19 The Guardian article, I just realized it was there now, lotsa other stuff including the pee tape, Clinton emails, speaks more frankly than previously

Thanks. Still oddly naive.
Like the FBI should be so easily snowed by Trump just because Trump's president?
His whole personality was an open book for decades.
I dunno - he just doesn't seem to evolve much considering all the reports over 4 years.

devil's advocate inquiring minds want to know: isn't that the language of incitement?
edit to add: note he speaks of a decline since the influence of the Tea Party types, names Gingrich and Palin.

It is interesting that he thinks there will be something left after the bonfire.
I have argued before that Gingrich was a particular turning point. If Comey really wants to play, he has to include McConnell, the best student Gingrich ever had.

You're right, but again i contend Comey's a douchebag who"s displayed really shitty horse sense multiple times, especially saying now Trump shouldn't be prosecuted, so I object to even taking his mutterings as serious food for thought just because he's trying to hawk a book. Lots of smart people are around to analyze what should happen to the Republican Party. Comey as a supposedly non-partisan before is back trying to put his thumb on the scale? Why wasn't he more forceful in denouncing Barr when it made a difference? Why didn't he out Rudy's band of disgruntled current FBI agents when he was still head? Why doesn't he help us figure out why Mueller's other case references spun off to other FBI branches got squelched? (yes, Mueller should testify about that too). Why not interview Michael Avenatti in jail? I bet that'd be more useful insight.

The comment did include noticing how he left out the most powerful person in the room.
Comey is navigating his code of loyalty and sense of outrage under his terms and I agree there is no reason to listen to him as an oracle of some kind.
The man says he get played on a number of levels and wants someone to pay for that. I think that part is real. His experience is more interesting than his explanations.
by moat on Thu, 01/21/2021 - 9:41pm
Again agreed. More discussion of Rosenstein's role is needed - he largely fell under the radar, when he seems to have been a prime CYA puppeteer. With McConnell it's figuring out how to sideline a master arsonist, and I assume he'll only get replaced with worse - success breeds success.
