The intra-Palestinian meeting in Moscow has precedent
— Hanna Notte (@HannaNotte) February 29, 2024
Russia's hosted such meetings in the past, most recently Feb 2019
Russia has long lamented the US' "monopolization" of the peace process & tried to carve out a niche for itself: mediating among the disunited Palestinians/2

A mass expulsion of Afghan migrants could destabilize the region and fuel radicalization. The West should pressure Islamabad to change course.
All eyes on #Chad right now
Chad has two internet trunks coming into the country: One from the Red Sea via Sudan; the other from Cameroon. Not possible for the totality of the country's internet network to be shut unless done centrally. A lot of rumors swirling; few facts. https://t.co/N6bDJZ2ixO

^ just curious how this vote fits into the "America is a systemically racist country" narrative to the world, after V.P. Harris, Pres. Obama for 8 years, and forbears Colin Powell and Condolezza Rice as Sec. State, etc. If you see something along the lines of them all being Uncle and Aunt Tom, say something, I'm interested in the twists of that narrative...

BTW I think Williams was absolutely fabulous, I am a big fan (pure Americana--the kind Europeans artsy Europeans adore ) glad to see all the buzz he is getting the last few years, and especially from Getty Research and USC acquiring the archive and promoting more research.

Out in the real world, Biden recognizes white supremacy
Trump released the 1776 Commission report which down played slavery and the Civil Rights movement
The report was so filled with lies that multiple historians complained
Biden removed the report from the White House website
The only thing some have left is to make statements aimed at making heads explode
The rants turn out to be very amusing

In a year when the President tried to arrange a military coup, rescinding the law that the Secretary of Defense should be a civilian seems a poor idea, whatever the perceived racial progress upsides. (I thought Colin Powell checked the main black-head-of-military box decades ago)
