He sure is shaking things up! I'm kinda loving Pope Francis.
The Third Vatican Council concluded today with Pope Francis announcing that Catholicism is now a “modern and reasonable religion, which has undergone evolutionary changes. The time has come to abandon all intolerance. We must recognize that religious truth evolves and changes. Truth is not absolute or set in stone. Even atheists acknowledge the divine. Through acts of love and charity the atheist acknowledges God as well, and redeems his own soul, becoming an active participant in the redemption of humanity.
Oh snap.

This was satire. The Third Council discussed never happened

It is interesting, though, that Francis the talking Pope has made enough controversial statements that this one seems believable. He'll never get a Home Depot credit card, but the 99% sure seem to like him.

It is interesting how many "religious" people are upset when the poor are given too much attention.

There are some Catholics in the family so there is some Pope talk. I probably would have heard about such a statement. At any rate the Pope is still a conservative on most issues. The column seemed too New Age for Pope Frank.

I am anti-theistic to a point.
God is everywhere; at least to me.
It has been regularly -30F for weeks. Yet the sun shines on this snow laden tundra and there is beauty.
Ancient Aliens on the History Channel (hahahahahahah) is fun to watch.
Without religion this country would never have abolished slavery and racial discrimination (I know neither slavery nor discrimination has been erased but we have done so by statute); this country would not have provided some sort of an economic net for the losers in the great casino that is America.
I like this new El Papa.
I like him a lot!
He washes the feet of the poor and he pats little kids on the head and he wishes that his followers get out of right wing politics.
He sneaks out of his residence (which is not the residence provided) and talks to people of the streets.
I just watched Robertson, in one of his non squinting rants, complain about folks who write him hoping that God might grow him or her a new arm; an arm lost in some accident or other.
I just read a blog citing that Haggard, used to praise Hitler as a man sent to us by God to get rid of the Jews. hahahahahaha
Why do I laugh at this? I don't know. The bastard was born in 1957 for chrissakes.(Oh and Hitler was a Roman Catholic.)hahahah
I still think we are all faced with levels of reality.
How am I sure, at times, that there is a God who intervenes in man's domain?
Falwell is dead.
hahahahahaha

A generation from now, it will be accepted as the gospel truth. Everyone who knew it wasn't true; will be dead. A new sect will arise.
