Republican Sen. Jeff Flake of Arizona is expected to deliver a floor speech on Wednesday in which he will compare President Donald Trump's attacks on the news media to the rhetoric of late Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin.....Flake will criticize the President for calling the news media the "enemy of the people," calling it "an assault as unprecedented as it is unwarranted."

Along with a spate of recent stories on sites like Politico and Axios on the worry about the next elections, I'd say it's a safe bet that this is now a genuine "talking point" being passed around by the one wing of the GOP, and not just a loner Flake thing "who's saying this only because he doesn't have to run". What i am saying is that I suspect a lot of GOP political consultants are telling their clients that they are going to have to stand up to Trump if they want to stay electable, to stop treating him as a party leader.
