By Paul Krugman,
published online January 12 for the Sunday New York Times Magazine of January 16, 2011
Is there any way to save Europe’s democracies from sinking together in the ill-conceived currency union?
Comments
I think Krugman is probably more worried about the euro being a success. The moment the $US ceases to be the only currency for world trade the whole American house of cards could come tumbling down. I don't think most Americans have much of an idea of to what degree their standard of living depends on the dollar's hegemony.
