Frederica Wilson (D-FL) from Miami has made a hat her trade mark. Take a look at the hats she likes to wear. She is one of the more colorful House Rep. that Florida has to offer. She is well liked.

I don't get her infatuation with the cowboy ten-gallon form. The few other forms she has worn are far more flattering. [/shallow, catty comment]

In South Florida Hispanic community you can find these hats at farmer and flea markets in Hispanic Booths. They come in all colors and sometimes with bling. I figure she has a large Hispanic population in her district from Central and South America. It is kind of "in your face" GOP every day in the House. I find it rather creative and fun. Then again she might just love the hats.

I just looked it up. She wears hats everyday in honor of her Bahamian grandmother. She has 300 hats in her collection. The Speaker of the House gave permission for her to wear them. This was Kendrick Meek's old house seat. It is cultural and gaucho look is Hispanic, boots and all.
