A reporter from the Daily Banter came to see the Guardian 's Gary Younge discuss his new book on the story behind MLK's "I Have a Dream" speech. While hearing about "The Speech", the reporter also got to witness one of Cornel West's word salad attacks on President Obama and Rev.Al Sharpton. The book author noted that West's act is getting old.
West repeated his Obama Plantation meme. Sad.

LOL
Coalitions are necessary given the multiple battlefields that we face. We have assaults on women's rights, Unions, voting rights, surveillance, jobs and education. Sharpton has been able to gather various races, sexual orientations and genders to address voting rights, Stop and Frisk and Stand Your Ground. Others are fighting other battles. John Lewis who spoke at the 1963 march and the 2013 march is an opponent of the NSA assault on our privacy. Lewis is capable of getting people to see the NSA as another form of Stop and Frisk.Sharpton talked about how songs that depict Black women as subhuman should not be tolerated. Ben Jealous talked about crime areas of poverty. West is incapable of understanding what went on in the march.
West's bitterness limits his ability to effect any change.
Today there will be more remembrance of the march and how far we have to go to achieve the Dream.
