Found it fascinating: what Trump world political advisors (& Trump himself) are thinking about 2020. Says he focuses on it a lot, I believe that for sure, he still thinks "campaign", sometimes it seems that's all he thinks. Of course they admit 2018 could change things. But right now they're not worried about the low approval rating. They'd love it if it were Sanders or Warren or a similar progressive, think that would be easy peasy. They're afraid of centrists with working class creds like Biden and Booker with grassroots skill and most of all: Oprah.
I want to make sure that by posting this no one thinks I am not trying to message anything like "this is the political truth of the country's situation." Rather, I think it's important to put into the mix for figuring out what's happening now what they are thinking. Because all he cares about is campaign mode, whether he's doing it smart or not is another question.
