I think the anger was over the use of global history as a way to say class outweighs race. In US, class dynamics need race to work effectively. That point is on repeat in the American South, as well as other colonized parts of the world. We do pay attention to global history

Except I didn't say that. I said if American historians knew more about the histories of other countries we'd hear less about white supremacy and more about class. Lots of people distorted, or misread, as you did above, but those are not the same things at all.

Class dynamics work extremely effectively for the capitalist class in the U.S. - mainly by suppressing class awareness in the class with opposing material interests. Hence, resistance to the devastation being wrought by them devolves into baroque cliques of "cause" & "identity."
