The career of Dinesh D’Souza is indicative of the downward trajectory of conservatism. As he wrote in his 2002 book “Letters to a Young Conservative,” “One way to be effective as a conservative is to figure out what annoys and disturbs liberals the most, and then keep doing it. That, in a nutshell, is the credo of today’s high-profile conservatives: Say anything to “trigger” the “libtards” and “snowflakes.” The dumber and more offensive, the better. Whatever it takes to get on (and stay on) Fox News and land the next book contract!

This is actually very helpful as Max identifies the media entities that have attacked him. Helps with figuring out who is on what side of the split, then see what policies each support editorially. Because following Trump as a supposed leader on any one thing leads to a lot of fool's errands, is not efficient, one is left with trying to interpret which Trump spew is getting the most enthusiastic cheers and which is getting shrugs or "say what?" This gives an inaccurate reading as to what different powers are trying to effect in Congress and even in having influence over cabinet members.
I was struck the other day seeing this how deluded we get feeding the troll, even Fox News might be disagreeing that Trump spew is where everyone is at, if they would only get a backbone:
Trump bulldozed a Fox News host, showing again why he likes phone interviews analysis by Collum Borchers @ WaPo:
I was thinking reading that: the Koch Bros. probably don't even bother to follow what he says anymore, are paying attention to McConnell and Ryan, Rebekah Mercer just wrote an op-ed recently basically disavowing bothTrump speak and Bannon/Breitbart wing, etc.

I appreciate Boot's emphasis on the modality of the "outrage artist".
Just keep using purple until the color runs out.

Boot again waxing ideological in another WaPo op-ed today: Trump vs. Mueller is a battle for America’s soul

Are you doing tryouts to replace Colbert’s old Conservative satire show?
Cartoon President does a much better job.
Edit to ad:
Trump is tweeting about Alec Baldwin. The man is oblivious.
