Attorneys for Paul Manafort rested their case on Tuesday without calling any witnesses, including the former Trump campaign chairman himself, who told the judge he did not want to testify in his own defense against bank and tax fraud charges.
Comments
Well that did not work.
Manafort just rested his case without calling one witness?

And sure there will be appeals.
But damn, he rots in prison during the entire appeal process.

I personally do not feel that Paul receives any reprieve from Trump?
This move on the part of the defense just astounds me.

I fixed it for you, Dick. When that bug happens, you can click the edit tab at the top and insert the missing text.
And yeah, I'm also astounded. I get why they might not want to risk having Manafort cross-examined, but no witnesses at all? Maybe they couldn't find anyone willing to vouch for his character ;)

Thanks Mike!
No witnesses brought on behalf of the Defendant?
This is strange.
Maybe the agreement could call for a sentence reduction per Presidential fiat.
But, damn....Manafort has another fed trial ahead and some states are surely going for his groin? ha

the legal analysis is just starting to pour forth, here's one @ CNBC
Paul Manafort lawyers' decision to rest without calling witnesses 'happens all the time' — and could lead to acquittal of Trump campaign chief
That reminded me that one should keep in mind that this is a white collar crime case and because of that one should look to analysis by attorneys who handle that sort of thing regularly, especially jury trials.

AA this is a nice analysis for sure.
Nice link.
But there are tens of charges against this prick and he has another big trial ahead of him and he has at least two states mad as hell. hahahhhah
WE SHALL SEE.
