A mis-titled article. It describes the InBev CEO's efforts to squeeze profits from Anheuser-Busch and other acquired brands like Becks and Amstel by using cheaper ingredients.
To my way of thinking, this is the natural evolution of Anheuser-Busch. Though family-owned before InBev bought it, the company long ago sold its soul by corporatizing and mass-producing beer. Budweiser was bad beer before InBev sacrificed "beechwood aging," and it's still bad beer today.
If InBev succeeds in destroying the market for mass-produced American beer by further reducing its quality, I say good riddance to bad booze. There are plenty of great microbrews ready to take up the slack.
Nonetheless, an interesting article.
