This is a great piece.
Partly because, as bad as the situation there is for our society, I get the love for the old-style research work that is exhibited in the article.
It raises an important question about our lost freedoms: when and why did we give up our right to keep our lettuce purchases private from the Feds? Was it really worth It? Damn muckrakers like Upton Sinclair caused this, we used to be able to buy meat free of inspection!
