Alternate title @ story page: Corker calls White House ‘an adult day care center’ in response to Trump’s latest Twitter tirade
Comments
Quote giving chronology:
You don't have to click on that WaPo link, which is another WaPo article, you can instead watch 2.24 minutes from the horse's mouth, see the video from CSpan of Corker's statement here on my "Calm before the Storm" news thread, which I recommend. Corker has obviously hit a very very sore spot.

Corker made his comments on the 4th, yet Trump waited 'til today to come out swinging - makes me think he was "advised" against a response until he saw something in the media (Fox, Breitbart?) that really set him off.
by barefooted on Sun, 10/08/2017 - 1:40pm
I think Corker agrees, that's why his tweet included Someone obviously missed their shift this morning . I.E., the babysitters weren't on duty early this morning to calm him down.

The Hill:
Corker fires back: Trump's White House 'has become an adult day care center'
Politico version:
Trump claims Corker 'didn't have the guts' to run for reelection
The retiring Republican fires back: 'It's a shame the White House has become an adult day care center.'

This is why he hates CNN so much, hah, "related" from their home page after this story being the headline:
Analysis: Trump is playing zero-dimensional chess
Sykes: Corker sees the emperor isn't clothed
Trump defends tossing paper towels
Edit to add this one from the most popular menu:

REMARKABLE PROGRESS since Aug. 15! YUGE! More better presidency every day!

p.s. what wall? didn't mean a real wall! Hurricanes: huge, bigliest ever, some Hispanics affected (some are Republican, who knew? Hope we still have a Taco bowl on the menu at Trump tower!)
by artappraiser on Sun, 10/08/2017 - 3:56pm
I bet those Hispanics playinig in the Taco Bowl will know not to kneel.
by PeraclesPlease on Sun, 10/08/2017 - 4:07pm
Sure they do! That's why their families still in the old country offered to pay for "the wall"! It's Muslims that are the real problem after all. Got to check if Corker is Christian....get Bannon on the phone....
by artappraiser on Sun, 10/08/2017 - 4:15pm
Yikes, Sandy! Bannonondrama - just another Manic Monday.

but turns out my parody is seriously wrong; I'm giving up on imitating Trump, I'm lousy at it, going to leave it the master NCD from now on:

but wait, that's just the headline piece, there's otherwise heavy coverage on kneeling and Pence and Kapaernik stories with retractions, but this is the one that stands out for me:

I've long said that nothing will stop America's asinine obsession with professional sports, football being the worst of them all. I was wrong. I've also posted that nothing good will come from Kaepernick's protest during the National anthem. Again I was wrong. I now support, nay, encourage kneeling during the National anthem at all sporting events. I'd also like to point out that there has never been a time that a person has kneeled while the National anthem played before the reading of a book. So perhaps the time has come for book reading to be our national past time, out of respect for the National anthem and patriotism.
by ocean-kat on Sun, 10/08/2017 - 6:22pm
(With culture wars, you never know where you'll end up! Myself, I had no idea kneeling would be considered offensive in such situations, being a 1960's parochial school product and all. What a country, eh? )
by artappraiser on Sun, 10/08/2017 - 10:09pm
The poll is from a wingnut source so it needs to be verified.
One concern about the Trump/Pence stance on the protests is that they are more concerned with kneeling than white supremacists. Trump is using the religious belief’s of a subset of Christians to take birth control away from other women. Trump is also stacking the courts with wingnuts. If Muslim were doing what Trump is doing in controlling protest, putting a religious stance on birth control, and packing judges with rigid opinions, we would be yelling about Sharia law.

oh I don't believe that title of that Breitbart story for a New York minute, I'm originally from Packerland. The point is that Breitbart is basically willing to attack god, mom and apple pie. I didn't look at the story much less the comments, but I suspect there's a lot of screaming in the comments over there even from the wingnuts.
by artappraiser on Sun, 10/08/2017 - 10:19pm
Bannon is a Nazi sympathizer. Trump imagines himself a dictator. The Republicans control Congress and will not be doing anything because it hurts their brand. Corker can speak because he is leaving.

There's 242,492 likes on Bob Corker's tweet, not nearly enough, I think everyone at Dagblog should pitch in:
by artappraiser on Sun, 10/08/2017 - 5:30pm
yikes, I give up on editing in an accurate "like" tally, it seems to be going up by 500 every few seconds right now.
P.S. To do a "like", you just click on the heart after clicking on the date to go to the tweet. I don't know if it works if you are signed in or not as I am always signed in (I don't tweet nor use twitter on the phone, just read it on the laptop.)
by artappraiser on Sun, 10/08/2017 - 5:38pm
I cannot click on anything at the moment. Too busy having the line tattooed on my neck...
