Trump's day of reckoning ... The one thing that could dramatically diminish President Trump’s chances of avoiding impeachment and chalking up legislative wins is Democrats winning the House.
- And, thanks to series of recent developments, Trump knows this no longer just seems plausible, but probable.
- Hill sources tell us that a House Democratic takeover is now likely.
- One strategist close to Republican leaders believes that a loss of the House is "baked in," and said top Republicans don't see a way to avoid it [....]

If what he says about Trump and GOP realizing this is true, means things get even wackier in this Congress? As they worry most about pandering to constitutents, whichever way that rolls. But as always, Trump is a wild card, may try to make friendly with Dems, or alternately may go more wacko? May that not depend on whether he thinks a "guilty" impeachment result would be probable? If he truly believes (even if the belief is crazy and contrary to legal advice) that there is little threat of removal, he might relish the fight?

Trump is a racist. He has outraged voters of conscience. Democrats will look like hypocrites if they cave to Trump’s policies. To make it easier on those who hate discussion about race, Trump stayed on the golf course during the nuclear scare in Hawaii. The White House staff was in disarray. Trump has tweeted about a book, but has not addressed the Nation about the nuclear scare. Democrats cave at their own peril.
Edit to add:
Trump blames Democrats for DACA being in danger.

2nd Edit to add:
538 is showing an increase in Trump approval in the wake of his racist comments. Approval is at 39%.

Although Trumps open racism may raise his approval, I note the 3 latest 538 polls at your link are listed as done over January 7-11, 8-11 and 9-11. His shithole comment was reported sometime in the afternoon of the 11th.

I guess he went from ignorant “truth-teller” to sycophant: http://www.cnn.com/2015/10/08/politics/house-speaker-republican-vote-mccarthy-webster-chaffetz/index.html
Seems to be an easy move for GOPers:

How odd, and interesting. He really is sucking up to Trump, even getting him his favorite candy and such....
Thinking on it, I guess it could be part just simpatico personality, after all, I've seen several articles on how Schumer and Trump "get" each other personally....
