Mitt Romney is the new Ronald Reagan – he died 7 years ago

In the upcoming weeks and months, we’ll all be introduced to the new Mitt Romney. Or, perhaps the new new Mitt Romney. Or even the new new new Mitt Romney. All that matters is that whatever happened in the past, Romney is totally a serious strict Constitionalist hyper-conservative now and he won’t be changing until the wind changes direction.

Today, with the release of his new book “No Apology,” Romney is taking his new, bad-ass Tea Partying self to the streets. As the 100th anniversary of the birth of Ronald Reagan rolls around, Romney is ready to assume the much-desired roll as the “New Ronald Reagan.”

And the fact is, Romney IS the new Reagan – he’s an empty suit who died seven years ago. Let us read Romney’s obituary:

“In May 2004 Romney instructed town clerks to begin issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples.”

Now, Romney changed his position not long after as he realized that such an uber-liberal social position may play well in Massachusetts, but is certain electoral death in Conservative circles. But that makes no difference. When a Gay or Lesbian comes out, there’s no turning back. The same goes for supporting Gay Marriage. Once it’s out there – especially for conservative voters – it’s out there.

But Romney is doing his best to show the country that he’s a changed man. He’s seen the light of the Koch Brothers wallets and influence, and is now rocking the Tea Party like a good ol’ Palin. He even showcases the lingo in his book, as he says this about Obama:

“They simply do not believe in America as it was shaped by the Founders,” he writes. “They do not believe that the principles and values that made America a great nation still apply.”

Sound and fury, signifying nothing. You see, Romney could perhaps survive implementing a socialist universal health care plan in Massachusetts. He could perhaps survive being a Mormon. He could perhaps survive the fact that he raised taxes in Massachusetts. After all, looking Presidential is half the battle, even for Tax-Hiking Mormon Socialists.

But supporting Gay Marriage? At last check, just 27 percent of Conservatives supported allowing Gays and Lesbians to marry. And the 73 percent that don’t support it are generally vehement in their opinions.

Seven years ago, Mitt Romney came out of the closet as a supporter of Gay Marriage and Gay Rights, and no matter what he says now, there’s no going back in. In effect, Mitt Romney is now in the same position as Ronald Reagan – his chance at being elected to national office as a Republican were buried in 2004. Because, unlike Reagan, Conservatives will be in no hurry to historically revise his record.

In defense of Mitt Romney, some people say he changes his positions as often as he changes his underwear, but I've heard he really doesn't change his underwear that often…

(Sorry for the pathetic Mormon joke, but I couldn't resist.)

That's the thing about "the garment"...it's magic...you don't have to change it, it's self renewing, (the closest thing that Baptists have is those girls who "renew" their previously discarded virginity)
