The US Supreme Court has ofttimes used a 'balancing formula' to decide its cases over the last 80 years or so.
Individual interests vs. societal interests.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_J._Brennan,_Jr.
or
political interests vs. money
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citizens_United_v._FEC
or
the interests of the many vs. the interests of every goddamn moneyed prick who owns this country
or....
Anyway, my understanding of this nation is that we citizens must balance interests.
I mean folks like Paul Volker attempted to balance banking interests with inflation...
But...
Now we find ourselves in a GREAT WORLD WAR....
Should we send a million soldiers or two million soldiers into the Middle East or should we..
Just nuke the entire mess.
We might nuke Mecca for instance.
That would abolish a mess of Muslims.
But we surely must balance this solution with the problem involving the nuclearisation of our own troops.
I mean if we send in two million troops that are even close to Mecca and then nuke the area,well....
So then again, we could just nuke Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Afghanistan and a host of others...
All at the same time without sending in two million soldiers.
On the other hand, we must at least demonstrate that we will take care of one and a half billion infidels.
This entire thought on my part simply has to do with my own idea of 'balancing'.
I mean you cannot send in two million soldiers into an area where you are going to or are intending to nuke the targets!
That seems clear to me anyway.
Look at Trump for chrissakes:
https://www.facebook.com/cnn/videos/10154213275786509/
But how best to balance our interests?
Well, we must send in a million troops or two million troops.
Do what we can do.
Then get them the hell out of there.
AND THEN NUKE THE HELL OUT OF ALL OF THEM!
Otherwise I shall never sleep safely at night; although Nyquil and some whiskey does the job, usally.
We must plan these things for chrissakes.
Putin is a coward anyway; just ask Trump.
THE WORLD NEEDS US.
Just ask JEB.
THERE Are only a billion and a half of these bastards anyway.
SO LET US NOT TALK FALSELY NOW, THE HOUR IS GETTING LATE!

One more try at the emotional mess of Paris, and then I quit:

Without a doubt, you have the most unique voice and writing style found here on Dag, Dick. But sometimes that confuses me ... I think I'm missing something here.
Is it satire going over my head? A deep dig at Republican ignorance (a subject about which you excel)? I'm embarrassed, but I don't get it.

We as a nation are idiots.
All along the watchtower....
The repubs will attack my president.
McCain and others wish we might punish the evil ones.
The SC Senator wishes us to send in fifty thousand troops while others wish to send in a million troops.
Where does this end?
Hell the repubs hated France ten years ago for not endorsing chaos?
All along the watchtower...
THEY ARE COMING?
I heard all of this before.
Some folks go to a theatre to witness a movie and....
I am lost over all of this.
And yet folks like Trump tell us that none of this would have happened in Paris if all the Parisians had been armed?
I have no answers except that we, as Americans always feel like we could do or could have done something to stop ten people from killing folks?
Despair is all I am going for here.
Let us react with bombs or feet on the ground or...
I thought the President of my country looked good today.
Whether or not I expressed those feelings correctly?
The repubs would react with feet on the ground or more bombs....
I dunno, but they would respond with revenge and anger and rhetoric.
But then again...
You responded. alone. hahhhHhHhH I feel alone without you Missy. hahahhaah
Maybe I am having but a dream.
Regardless, I am going home...

Most of us are at lost to react to this turn of events in the middle east and Europe.
There are some really smart people at the Pentagon and other agencies. I think they have learned a thing or two the last 15 years on how to deal with this.
I am ignoring the crazy right because Obama is still in the Whitehouse. It is just political noise.
We have to be human to the Syrian people because they are fleeing drought and famine. It is not just war.

I think part of the frustration that some of us are feeling is the continuation of the strident full court press against this President. After 9/11, Americans were called upon to forget our political differences, and as Americans, stand behind and support the President. That option is not available any more because of the vehemence and the ever-present ramped up opposition to this President that has been going on since Day One of his administration. The horrors in Paris were only minutes old, when the attacks on the President began from the Extreme Right. There is no bringing together of the Country any more. There are too many strident voices that refuse to ever be brought together even in a common cause. Why? Because even our normally common causes have been politicized to a fare-thee-well.

That is why I don't watch 24 hr news. I don't like their lazy productions.
This is a good source https://twitter.com/hashtag/raqqa?lang=en Most of it is older news.

Peracles this response from five months ago just got to me again.
I look at my old blogs sometimes, cause I forget. hahahahha
Forget Zappa, but this old Winfield thing just got to me tonight.
Can we ever find ourselves home? I really believe that I would never, ever, wish to find my way
back home as a child. hahahahah
And yet, that is where many of us wish to be!
This thought is really stupid.
But, alas, I am really stupid in the end.
I get so damned upset all the damn time. Tooo much TV
Or tooooo much internet
Is there an answer?
by Richard Day on Sun, 05/15/2016 - 7:30am
Oh Dick, you're such a child. You and that Neil guy.
by PeraclesPlease on Sun, 05/15/2016 - 8:08am
