I was thinking of doing this.
I mean I am ten? or eight? and there was Annette!
I loved breasts when I was four--I never did breast feed. hahaahahah
The Mickey Mouse Club.
Annette even had a single that sold.
She died in agony over the last 25 years!
If she had become a child star during the last thirty years, she would have made a hundred million dollars.
Now Thatcher was just a mean old conservative prick. I do not even have to use the 'b' word!
Martin Basher has been the 'go to guy' on MSNBC all day on this subject; but he watches himself!
Domestically, the Brits faced the same damn draining inflation as we were experiencing in 1979 and the Americans made the same choice two years later with Ronny.
THIS AINT WORKIN'.
Thatcher did nothing for the unions, nothing for the worker, nothing for the poor, nothing for women for chrissakes!
I have such a nice taste in my mouth thinking about the little girl with big breasts and a happy smile.
I have such a terrible taste in my mouth thinking about that mean old lady.
GOD REST BOTH THEIR SOULS!
the end

M... .I... C...... K... E...Y...... m o u s e! I remember her in the Spin and Marty serial and used to dream of being like her. Thatcher is more like. " Ding, Dong the Witch is dead." I always thought she was stiff and mean.

Annette was the first crush for a lot of young boys of that generation and the object of admiration of a lot of young girls. She was pretty and sweet and seemed to be without guile.
Margaret Thatcher, on the other hand, was admired in a different way, for being tough and an example of a 'gal that can play with the big boys and make 'em all knuckle-under" ...
Both were known to hang around with grade "B" movie actors.

Though clearly too young to be able to do your compare/contrast with Annette
...She became leader of the Conservatives the year I was born and prime minister when I was four. She remained in power till I was 15. I am, it's safe to say, one of Thatcher's children. How then do I feel on the day of this matriarchal mourning?...
British comedian Russell Brand has some very interesting cultural recollections and ruminations about Maggie.

Thanks AA, that is a somewhat unexpected take on Mrs. Thatcher. I think the "Ealing comedy" scenario he imagines is actually the plot of an O. Henry story called "The Ransom of Red Chief," but never mind that. I did not know Russell Brand was such a good writer.
