Rudy Giuliano is the son of an organized crime enforcer for loan sharks and gamblers who spent time in Sing Sing for felony assault and gambling - as the great Casey Stengel said, "you can look it up".
How Giuliano then gets to lecture Obama on his Hawaiian upbringing is anyone's guess, but yes, Rudy - Obama wasn't raised like you - his idea of "Family" doesn't equal "Mafia".
Pass it on.
Comments
So what, his father was a gangster. It was reported, the 35 th President of the United States, John Kennedy's father was involved in illegal activities. Look it up Bootlegging
Oh Lord what is this world coming too
This is also in reply to an earlier question you raised
Senator Obama: “Running up the National debt is irresponsible …. unpatriotic”
@ .38 seconds
Both men and Party's wrapping themselves up in the flag to win elections. Imagine that.
by Resistance on Sat, 02/28/2015 - 5:25pm
Bush was handed a budget surplus by Clinton and he gave it away to the rich. Then he stared two unfunded wars and destroyed the economy. Obama was handed a destroyed economy, left to find a way to pay for Bush's unfunded wars and stabilize the economy with tax revenues down due to tax cuts for the rich and high unemployment. Obama's deficits were the inevitable result of Bush's disastrous policy choices.
And you feed us faux "news" disinformation and propaganda. There are so many lies in your link I could pick it apart line by line. Though I wouldn't be as funny as Jon Stewart when he picks apart the lies. So I'll pick just one. "Basically we have a government that mails checks to the elderly and has a small army"
A small army? Look at the Defense Spending by Country and tell me America has a small army. That's obviously the most stupid lie I've heard in years and of course it came from faux "news" And you wonder why people have no respect for your posts.
by ocean-kat on Sat, 02/28/2015 - 5:32pm
The evidence I provided were words spoken straight out of Obamas mouth. @38 seconds
Are you now saying Obama did not say those words?
I am not arguing on the presentation as a whole, so your attempt to redirect away from Obamas own words, is disingenuous and a distraction
I am not disputing the differences in what the spoils are for the winning party.
Republicans subsides for the Rich and defense department and Democrats subsidies for the poor and welfare programs Those are the SPOILS of war, to be paid for by the conquered
Both Capitalists parties are burying us in debt and for what...... to win elections?
In the END; What do they care if the working class becomes enslaved;
that has been the plan all along.
by Resistance on Sat, 02/28/2015 - 6:02pm
The "evidence" you posted was a Faux news video. I've already pointed out one of the many lies in it. The Obama quote was correct at the time but conditions changed on the ground due to Bush destroying the economy. One can disagree with how Obama spent money to stabilize the economy, I certainly do. But the fact was that money had to be spent to keep the country from going into a depression after the Bush caused crash of the economy a few months before Obama was elected.

I haven't the time to search through all the archives to find if Democratic propaganda ministers would have this critical piece of film around.

The poster was amazed to wake up this morning and find not 26 reads but 26 *comments*.
The poster was then greatly disappointed to find the discussion went off the rails immediately with distractive Resistance comment #1, a non-sequitor about JFK's father*, and then later his attack on Obama as being un-American because of a soundblip from a native Hawaiian**.
Yeah, you destroyed the thread. Hope you had fun. Instead of talking about Rudy's hypocrisy, which was the obvious intent, you managed to flip it to an Obama smear-fest. I don't even like Obama but he didn't deserve this. Why don't you learn to think before you demagogue?
*Obama didn't accuse JFK of being un-American because of his father - in fact he didn't accuse anyone of being un-American AFAIK though maybe he made the hardly unusual accusation that saddling the country with unpayable debt would be acting against the best interests of the country (i.e. "unpatriotic").
Rudy on the other hand directly attacked Obama's upbringing as "not being one of us" and not loving America, which is pretty strange for some guy to question anyone's upbringing when he himself came out of a lawless Italian immigrant community with a father who was jailed for breaking the law and who would have then been raised between having a father in jail or one out assaulting people or running numbers. I think even JFK would have been careful about accusing his opponents of bad upbringing and being drunks and flouting the law.
**America is built up of immigrants, including those angry about loss of native rights or situation in their forefathers homes. Including Eskimo/Inuit, AmerInd of all kinds, Irish, Italian, Jewish+Israeli, Cuban, Puerto Rican, Vietnamese, Suthurn, etc. Despite controversies and problems related to ethnic and religious rights, most of the people in this melting pot are pretty similar culturally despite having blobs of disparate behavior - e.g. our malls and schools and weekends all look pretty much alike even though we have some specific behavior that shows a bit of difference, as the saying goes, turn us upside down and we all look the same, or "in the melting pot the scum rises to the top", as evinced by Rudy certainly.
Attacking people's patriotism is one of the stupidist parlor tricks in the deck, and lending credence to this crap even with your feigned stupidity is simply annoying. Yeah, like JFK's having to show he loves America more than the Pope, Obama I guess has to prove he's not a cult follower of the lineage of Queen Liliuokalani along with being a Musllim and Maasai warrior. Does Giuliani then have to show he loves America more than Sicily and his Capo and his bookie PLUS the Pope (unlike JFK, he did study for the priesthood) along with his twisted perverted home turf of Brooklyn as so excellently portrayed by Hubert Selby, Jr? And unlike so many from a broken home (like Rudy), Obama seems to know how to stay married and keep his kids out of trouble - perhaps from the pro-American values of his mother and grandparents.
So get with the program, Resistance - unless you really have something interesting to say, stick with the subject and quit always being a distraction. As The Specials would say, stop your messing around...

Hey everybody, Rudy's dad was a criminal Guilt by association
You write this lame introduction BS with the intent to immediately discredit Rudy, by guilt by association, because his DAD was a crook so I point out, why should the son be smeared because of the dad for you to make a point.
Are you trying to reach an audience of fair minded folks or just feeding crap to your viewers?
Really lame argument when you have to go after the son through his father.
If this is the defending argument of the Democrats/ Liberal no wonder they'll keep losing to the Red States

It's like telling a joke a second time when it didn't come out right the first. No real do-over. In the end, I don't really care - I usually ignore these instant-outrage moments in media, but I just ran across Rudy's upbringing & found it hugely ironic & worth pointing out. But I did find it funny that after me not writing a diary in 2 years to get a bunch of comments - and find they more mostly irrelevant. C'est la vie. Should have kept my string intact.
by PeraclesPlease on Sun, 03/01/2015 - 5:23am
That’s why a put the link showing the use of the Parlor trick, when it served Obama's needs.
For according to you, Obama must have thought his audience was idiots, when he tried to pull off the parlor trick to get elected.
Now when the other side uses it you want to claim foul and bring up Rudy’s dad?
All the rest of your reply is to add to your less than informative introduction.
I have never heard Rudy attack Obama's father or mother so I beieve you are grasping for a straw.,
It is not hard to understand why some people question Obama's upbringing from knowing what we do know.
Many voters have the perception
He had association with a pastor who antagonized certain segments of the Population. (Despite all of the excuses to explain away the problem)
He comes from a State where the indigenous people hate American influence.
A healthcare system for the Big Pharma and Insurance companies
Military strategy not working, ISIL taking over areas we had already delivered and splilt precious blood.
and by applying that knowledge, to actions taken by the Administration some are asking, WTH?
My intent is not to defend Rudy or Obama I am defending reason and not blind obeisance to either the Democratic Party or the Republican Party.
Everybody, Go back to drinking your koolaid
by Resistance on Sun, 03/01/2015 - 4:19am
Try this straw from Rudy -
or this straw:
or this straw:
And then you again launch into other irrelevancies - I didn't discuss Obama's preacher, Pharma, ISIS,whatever - it was a very simple post - I referred to the son of a Mafia bastard criticizing the values Obama was raised with. Pot calling kettle black, got it? Giuliani's father raised him with "love of this country"? "yeah I loves this country - there's a rube and a mark on every corner to rip off..." The big-mouth New Yorker certainly plays to stereotypically stupid (and of course clowns around with Mafia stereotypes onstage to the embarrassment of Italian-Americans - again, "Family" values ).
Re: "patriotism" - I think it's unpatriotic to take your country into self-destructive hugely expensive wars or to saddle the next generation with mountains of debt - yes, these are particular accusations for particular policies or actions - not a generic stupid "he doesn't worship the US enough, he didn't kiss the ass of Lincoln's statue every morning, etc. in a Teabagger fucked-up mythology of the Founding Fathers and American exceptionalism and all this other rhetorical bullshit. I can 't help if you don't see the difference between the concrete and the spuriously abstract & indefensible innuendo.
And while this is slightly off-topic, every country in the world thinks it's "exceptional" - I've been in some real ratholes - large countries, tiny ones, rich & poor - and everyone has an inflated opinion of their own culture. It's more exceptional to be an unexceptionalist - that we have the same promise and abilities as most cultures, and it's important to funnel our efforts into successful paths forward than hateful regressive paths that end up like ISIS or the irresponsible Republicans who only manage to tear down and never manage to build something new & promising.
by PeraclesPlease on Sun, 03/01/2015 - 5:20am
Deserves its own reply - I *do* *not* *like* *Obama*. As a President, a bit as a personality. However I don't have any visceral feeling towards him. Unlike my visceral hatred for village idiots like Giuliani.
So whatever "koolaid" you think I'm drinking, you're simply wrong. And considering how many times I'm out of lockstep with the prevailing wisdom and PC tilt for the "left", such as around the South, offshoring & NAFTA, events in Ukraine, Vietnam or the circumstances around the Iraq invasion, et al, I'm a bit surprised to be accused of drinking the koolaid. Perhaps we need a word check from the judges.
by PeraclesPlease on Sun, 03/01/2015 - 5:30am
It really doesn't deserve it's own reply. Go back to drinking your koolaid isn't meant to make a point. It's not a rational persuasive argument. It's just meant to insult and get a rise out of people so they continue the conversation. "Everybody" was used to try to suck other people in. And he got you to criticize Obama, which is what he really wants since he's actually a right wing republican. At least his position on almost every issue is far right republican.
He might just have well called you/everybody an asshole. Would that deserve it's own reply, an attempt to prove the insult incorrect? Well I may have an asshole but I also have two legs, arms, ears, a nose etc. Insults don't deserve a reply. They don't deserve to be treated as a rational argument. At most they need to be called out for what they are.
by ocean-kat on Sun, 03/01/2015 - 9:07am
Yeah, but at times I get called a typical right-wing troll, a typical Southerner, a typical Hillary supporter, a typical Obama hater, a typical Obama fan, a typical Rand Paul supporter, a typical American imperialist, a typical science denialist, a typical 9/11 denier, a typical warmonger, a typical racist & anti-Semite....

People can talk about being in Hawaii but I doubt many wouldt understood a thing about its people.
I have been to Hawaii and was so moved by pity, for Queen Liliʻuokalani and her people.
I sat in her Second floor bedroom at ʻIolani Palace, which became her prison.
I looked out her window; envisioning the unobstructed Harbor view she must have had during her reign and reflecting upon her works as Queen
Looking at the table, where she wrote her songs and memoirs; examining and admiring her beautiful quilts.
Her book Hawaiʻi's Story by Hawaiʻi's Queen
Hawaii's Story by Hawaii's Queen. - Digital Library Project
America rebuilt Hawaii to fit its desires and the exploiters who pillaged the Islands and settled there for their own personal reasons couldn’t care less for the people and guess what; the feelings are mutual.
People who have no empathy for the Hawaiian people should be ashamed, but they're not.
by Resistance on Sun, 03/01/2015 - 12:28am
The people in your video clip are native Hawaiians. Like our native-Americans, they have a legitimate beef. Their land was taken from them and it is now so pricey they could never afford to buy it back.
Obama has born in Hawaii but has no Hawaiian blood. So don't worry. He's not "one of them".
