RACISM, PREJUDICE, BIAS & THE REPUB PARTY!

    Jesse Helms

If I can send the flower of the German nation into the hell of war without the smallest pity for the shedding of precious German blood, then surely I have the right to remove millions of an inferior race that breeds like vermin

                                                                     ADOLF HITLER

Okay, I know that all of us, all of us humans are racist; that we are all biased and that we are all prejudiced.

    A liberal knows this.

That is why the liberal steps out of himself and understands that his prejudices limit him.

    So we press on.

We attempt to hold that prejudice at bay. We attempt to get past our prejudices!

MICHAEL MOORE IS NOT A RACIST.

Jesus H. Christ, put this issue in perspective!

    BIAS, PREJUDICE AND RACISM

Rush Limbaugh: Michelle Obama has a big butt:

The President’s limousine weighs 8 tons without Michelle Obama in it

    Michelle my butt.

Michelle Obama should take her own nutritional advice!

    http://mediamatters.org/mmtv/201109150013

That somebody so ugly spiritually and physically; that someone so obese economically and physically; that someone so nutritionally and spiritually poor; could actually attack a First Lady in this manner is incredible to me.

If anyone ever said anything about George w's school marm all hell would have broken loose.

However, liberals like David Letterman will attack peeps like Chris Christie.

That demonstrates a prejudice against big fat ugly fascist people!

I mean if you put Michelle Obama and Rush Limbaugh together in one mass physically, I mean you would have a Michelle Obama and Governor Christie!

GOD I HATE LIMBAUGH MORE THAN ANY MAN ON THIS ENTIRE PLANET!

Here is George Will in 2008:

WILL: Some impact. And I think this adds to my calculation — this is very hard to measure — but it seems to me if we had the tools to measure we’d find that Barack Obama gets two votes because he’s black for every one he loses because he’s black because so much of this country is so eager, a, to feel good about itself by doing this, but more than that to put paid to the whole Al Sharpton/Jessee Jackson game of political rhetoric.

    http://firedoglake.com/2008/10/19/george-will-colin-powell-endorsed-obama-because-hes-black/

    Pat (The NAZI sympathizer) Buchanan:

Buchanan: Alright, we gotta ask a question, look would Colin Powell be endorsing Obama if he were a white liberal democrat... Walsh: Oh, Pat, I'm really sorry you went there. Look, General Powell Started off by saying it would be electrifying an African American and it is naive Joan to suggest it had nothing to do with his decision. Matthews: He said that if that were his driving motive he would have done it weeks ago because the guy looked African America weeks and months ago. Walsh: And Obama's been courting him. He's been courting him for months. Buchanan: This is why he threw in the whole kitchen sink. A lot fo things are silly and ridiculous. Economics and Supreme courts justices, it's... Walsh; That's not silly... Buchanan: All the motives except for the one everybody is wondering about. Walsh: Which is what? Race, I mean Pat, you know Pat. this is beneath you. Matthews: Why don't you go by what he said? Why do you have to attribute motives to people who don't say those things? Walsh: And Sheila Jackson Lee stayed with Hillary and Stephanie stayed..

    http://crooksandliars.com/john-amato/pat-buchanan-says-colin-powell-endorsed

Rush (the Terrorist) Limbaugh of course has no doubt about race as an issue in this campaign:

Rush Limbaugh said on his radio show today that former Bush Secretary of State Colin Powell will vote for President Obama again because “melanin is thicker than water.” Powell, considered a Republican, heavily supported Barack Obama in 2008, but came out over the weekend saying he had not yet decided who will get his vote in 2012.

    http://thenewcivilrightsmovement.com/limbaugh-colin-powell-will-vote-for-obama-because-melanin-is-thicker-than-water/politics/2011/08/29/26062

And you can bet your ass that Limbaugh and Will and the rest of the repubs will vote for Perry or Mitt or THE NEW CHRIST (NJ style) or whomever because they are ALL WHITE!

    FUCKIN RACIST CLASSIST PERVERTS ALL!

See I get so damn mad over this crap.

    I am a classist not a racist.

Oh about the fact that repubs have Black folks in their ranks!

    Big fucking deal!

Alan West and Clarence Thomas and Pizza man are just examples of traitors; traitors to their race and to their class (of origin) and to their country!

    They sold their souls.

Maybe some Black friends were mean to them.

Maybe they got kicked in the balls by some liberal woman sometime.

Maybe they just figured out that they could make a lot of money and gain a lot of power by finding a slot in their own counter-culture.

    Who gives a shite?

I just know what I see, what I hear, what I read, and what I smell.

And to just underline my rage against folks like Limbaugh (the single most successful radio prick in the history of radio demonstrating the right wing racist bastards in this country control everything):

Limbaugh Says Steinbrenner Was A “Cracker Who Made African-Americans Millionaires”

Limbaugh: Obama & Oprah Are Only Successful Because They’re Black

AUDIO: Limbaugh Calls Gov. Paterson A “Massa”

    Limbaugh Calls Obama “Uppity”

Limbaugh Says Kennedy “Had Negroes Serve Him Booze”

Limbaugh: Black Frame Of Mind Is Terrible, Tiger’s Women Not Helping

I have written on this issue so many times!

    http://dagblog.com/reader-blogs/being-wrong-place-wrong-time-jim-crow-lives-1002

    http://dagblog.com/reader-blogs/bewitched-bothered-bewildered-9882

    http://dagblog.com/reader-blogs/battle-new-orleans-9441

    http://dagblog.com/reader-blogs/sad-sad-state-affairs-9231

    Oh that is enough.

What am I obliged to do? Go back three years?

LET US JUST TURN OUR ATTENTION TO THE ENEMIES OF AMERICANS.

    AND THEY ARE THE REPUBS.

    Michael Moore is our friend!

Dick have you been to Katnovian's site? If not you need to make a visit. It will brighten your Saturday night and give you a good laugh. Kat is a new dagster. Katnovian.com

I built Kat Nove's site.  Do you really like it?

Yes I do. I like that I can increase the size of font on this android and don't have to use a magnifying glass.

Kat Nove is an excellent author, though quite shy.

In the off-chance that I will be seen as a salesman, realize i get nothing from this, except the opportunity to make hamburgers for her.

    Kat's sites, which I built:

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit katnovian.  I don't think I've ever brightened anyone's Saturday night before now.  Now you've brightened my Sunday morning.

dagblog is a fantastic site and who would have guessed I'd have Richard 2 to thank for introducing it to me?

You are quite welcome. My favorite part was about the pies. You should post some of it in the creative section.

Thanks Momoe, and with the added links from Richard Ele, I have...

There are liberals in Texas of course we have a lot of friends down there!

I think that a meme that Obama has to behave like a stereotypical gangsta rapper is racist. What does voting for the black guy and getting the white guy mean? Have you looked at the actions taken over at the Orange site (DailyKos)? How would you characterize Hamsher and Ferraro?

"What does voting for the black guy and getting the white guy mean? "

I'll tell you what that means to me. It means absolutely fucking nothing. It means zero. It means zilch minus fuck-all. It is, by itself, a  verbal cipher. That sentence is a teaser. Nothing of actual substance or meaning can be taken from that sentence until the person who said it goes on to put it into context and expand on the point they were getting ready to make, which is exactly what happened. That sentence is a lead in to expressing an idea. That sentence was used as part of making a point about a person in a position that every American has not just a right, but also an obligation to evaluate and one anyone should be free to talk about and who is the first of his race to hold that position. It is OK to notice that the man being talked about is a black man. It is Ok to remark that being a black man affected the way people saw him. It is OK for anyone to say that the significance of this whole damned scenario including the good feeling for our country brought about by the fact that our nation had reached the point that a black man could become its leader had filled them with a special hope and excitement but that hope has , to this point, turned into disappointment, if not despair. And, it is OK if someone says that they thought this particular black man would be different than the white men politicians they had grown so very tired of over the years but but that they now think he has turned out to be very much the same ol' same ol'. That is expressing a political opinion. None of that is evidence of racism, though thinking so might be evidence of confirmation bias on the part of someone looking hard for it. It is just talking. I believe that sentence is part of the kind of thing that Moore could have said in a respectful conversation with any of the black men I have known well enough to guess at their reaction [ My bad fortune in life to have never known a black woman well] and I believe those black men would not have heard only that sentence and then flared up with the thought that he was a racist, but would have instead listened long enough to hear his entire point which certainly did not mark him as such.

    YES!

Please see the link from Balloon Juice.

So people who disagree with your interpretation are wrong? Here is link from Ballon Juice that gets that calling Obama's black part "gangsta" IS offensive.

    http://www.balloon-juice.com/2011/09/14/michael-moore-quotes-bill-maher-...

I think you are missing a larger context.

Possibly, but I also would think that people can cherry pick anything regardless of race.

If one is looking to take offense, one will find what they are looking for. The larger picture is that Moore is not a racist and is trying to help the 99% of us, regardless of race.

    Do you disagree with that?

    99% is right on!

As a matter of fact I am in the midst of a CSPAN interview with Mr. Moore; it is two hours long and if you have a chance catch part of it.

    OK, Dickon.

    =)

I can think that Moore is helpful to important issues. I can think that Bill Mahrer is a satirist. I can also believe that saying that equating black to gangsta is offensive. I can also think that pointing out the false equivalence between black and gangsta is not cherry-picking, and that the cherry-picking comment is dismissive. We just simply happen to disagree on context. We will likely agree on other issues.

OK, rmrd. I know we do. I will try to be more critical of this type of speech in the future. Thank you for pointing it out.

This is not meant to be patronizing, at all. My appearance is such that I can pass for any number of minorities/races, and it has always amused me to be a mutt. I guess because of that, I have developed a rather callous attitude, and it never occurred to me that this was so. You humbled me. I really will try to be more sensitive.

RMRD I have been thinking about your comments and I came across this item which is all over the web today:

In the early years of his political career, Rick Perry began hosting fellow lawmakers, friends and supporters at his family's secluded West Texas hunting camp, a place known by the name painted in block letters across a large, flat rock standing upright at its gated entrance.

    "Niggerhead," it read.

    hwest-texas.html

Now first, and most importantly, Perry finds himself in a gated community.

There is now this 'deep' debate over when the rock was 'erased' or replaced!

Bullshite, we know damn well what was going on here.

But as Bwak puts it: We (meaning lefties) must watch our reactions and our words!

Like you say: I am sure we shall agree on most issues.

Yes, there is no doubt about this!

Like everything else, the issue is one of degree!

Thanks for the response. I know I sound like  broken record, but one problem that some Progressives have is a lack of attention to detail when talking to/about minority communities. I think that becaue the black community wasn't considered to be important enough to be included in the discussion about Gay marriage, the GOP won the Gay marriage suppression vote in California and 20% of African-American voters in Ohio. The black community in DC was involved in the process and a homophobic reactionary like Marion Barry lost in his attempt to get the Gay marriage vote to fail in DC.

Ralph Nader seems like an alien who landed from outer space when he talks about Obama and race. If, on the other hand, there are others like Donna Edwards who fell under Nader's umbrella and this is publicized, the impression of Nader in he African-American community may soften.

Most in the African American community understand the Progressive's disappointment with Obama. What won't happen given how the GOP is being very public about attacking the black community, is for blacks to abandon Obama in large numbers.

Those who feel that there is no difference between the GOP and Democrats will find little support from blacks. MLK openly said the voting for Goldwater was voting for someone who would side with racists to gain votes.  By default that left the Democratic warmongers. Blacks heard Malcolm X's words about being "chumps" and still recognized the Democrats as the lesser evil. Today the old Dixiecrats are the Tea Party.

The circumstances of the Perry family hunting camp are not surprising. Perry is a very Conservative Republican from Texas.

WE CAN NEVER SETTLE FOR A DEFAULT POSITION!

    I agree!

Boy do I agree with your statement about the dixiecrats! GOP is having trouble putting that genie back into the bottle. I don't think the NJ governor can save their Bacon. It is beginning to sink into voters minds how punitive and imperial this bunch is.

"So people who disagree with your interpretation are wrong?"

Well, yeah, enlightened, but do you really think that people who agree with you are right? smiley

.......but do you really think that people who agree with you are right?

Almost always. The exceptions are the times when I think that I might be wrong. If they are that I might be wrong, then I question their sanity. wink

I would like to hear him (or anyone for that matter) speak as well as Malcolm X.

Malcolm was speaking on the situation in the 1960s. Would you roll back the changes made under the Great Society and the Voting Rights Act?

Am I clear that you want Obama to say that it doesn't matter which party is in power? In the face of the aforementioned attempts by the GOP to suppress the vote in the black community, do you really believe both parties are equal?

They are equally repugnant and have an equal disregard for anyone who does not have a large pocketbook.

Malcolm spoke to the black people in this country...things that everyone needed to hear.  I hear of those who yearn for another JFK or FDR or LBJ. I yearn for another Malcolm X and another Lenny Bruce and another Woody Guthrie.

The reality is Limbaugh and the GOP use racism to divide and conquer, it's an old technique, Hernando Cortez used it against the Aztecs, using other Indian tribes to overturn them. Cortes didn't, in fact, give a crap about any Indian, except as tools to kill other Indians, or to make him rich through their labor. Hitler didn't give a crap about Germans or Germany.  His slave camps, murder factories and expendable propagandized troops were just cogs in his and his cohorts delusional plans for world dominion.

Limbaugh doesn't give a crap about his devoted worshipping dittoheads.  The GOP doesn't give a damn about the poor, of any race or color, or this nation. How many Republicans exhibit the Full Gingrich? Not even paying child support for their own kids?

These guys are all about themselves, their money and their power, and race and bigotry are just tools, useful to despots to divide the peasants and take the spotlight off of their own fat asses, and their rich lifestyles. They will never propose solutions to the serious issues that this country and the world face, they don't even understand or comprehend them, and they will never lead us to anything but decline and disaster.

Well said!  I manage a bookstore and live in central Texas (I call it Republican Central) where everyone listens to Rush and takes the advice of Beck on which books to buy.  I've tried to explain to some of my co-workers that these talking heads don't care about them and probably don't even believe any of the crap they shower on the masses.  It's a lost cause though.  Authoritarian followers apparently can't think for themselves, especially when it comes to their own self-interest.

    http://katnovian.com/

Kat, is it wrong in a corporate bookstore to take a Rove or Bush book into the coffee shop, mistakenly break it's back with a loud crack, sorry, Ma'am,  spill coffee all over it, and then let it lie there to be bussed along with the empty cup and napkin?

Just kidding, but I've been sorely tempted.

I am a book hoarder and hang out in N. Texas part of the time. I make the rounds of half price books and occasionally find a mispriced gem or two. Part of what I collect are vintage dust jcakets, if I can find them at a good price, for example, Kauffer, Wenck, Salter, etc.

It's good to have you, Jeni and Richard on the site.(I'm pretty much a newcomer here as well).

The headline at Huffpo says this about Texas politics:

Here in Texas  you get into office, and you're stupid if you don't get rich!

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/politics/

I don't care if its Issa or Cantor or Perry; whether the repub is from Texas or Illinois, this is the hidden agenda of the repub party!

Here in Texas  you get into office, and you're stupid if you don't get rich!

Don't the stupid ones get rich, too?

alternate wording...if you're smart enough to be a sleazy, lying, lower than a snake's belly boot-licking shill for the wealthy, you can get rich in Texas as a politician.  Evidence: the last two governeors.

    hahaahahahahaha!

When I snap, I'll probably dig up Ann Richards and get her to run again.  Zombie Ann Richards for Governor!

    Oops.

I resemble that remark. Well, I didn't spill any coffee, (thanks for the idea!), but have turned a few books backward and downward, and moved a few Genghisness books upwards and over.

    (whistles)

No, it's the right thing to do.  Personally, when I have the flu and have to work I cough on Bill O'Reilly books with the notion that it's his readers' time to go.

Thanks for the welcome.  I'm enjoying myself.  Great site!

Yes, what Oxy said Kat, welcome.
