HEDGE FUND PRICK
Billionaire hedge fund executive Paul Tudor Jones believes mothers don’t make good traders because having babies and breast-feeding are focus and ambition “killers.”
“Every single investment idea… every desire to understand what is going to make this go up or go down is going to be overwhelmed by the most beautiful experience… which a man will never share, about a mode of connection between that mother and that baby,” Jones told an audience at the University of Virginia, according to a video obtained by the Washington Post. “And I’ve just seen it happen over and over."
Whether I'm right or whether I'm wrong.
BITTER VITTER
In a sleepy moment on the Senate floor Wednesday, Senate Democrats accepted an amendment to the long-delayed farm bill that, if passed in its current form, would represent another step in turning previously incarcerated Americans into a permanent underclass. Certain classes of ex-convicts would be denied food stamp benefits for life, under the amendment offered by Sen. David Vitter (cannily, the crime of soliciting prostitutes is exempted from this ban). While the amendment may sound like common sense, it’s actually a harshly punitive, counterproductive policy that will only increase crime and trap people in the criminal justice system.
The United States is a clear outlier from this pattern. Despite being the richest country in the survey, nearly a quarter of Americans (24%) say they had trouble putting food on the table in the past 12 months. This reported level of deprivation is closer to that in Indonesia or Greece rather than Britain or Canada.
Whether I find a place in this world or never belong
SARAH PALIN
Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) slammed President Barack Obama in a Wednesday op-ed, calling him "either a liar or a hugely incompetent CEO."
I gotta be me, I've gotta be me
TED NUGENT
Because our legislative, judicial and executive branches of government hold the 10th Amendment in contempt, I’m beginning to wonder if it would have been best had the South won the Civil War. Our Founding Fathers’ concept of limited government is dead.
What else can I be but what I am
ANN COULTER
Hispanics are all on welfare.
What else can I be but what I am
BECKERHEAD
BECK: OK. So, it's the Internet that is doing that. Gee, maybe we should have the government control the Internet.
Could it be something else, Bob? Could it be? Is it because the American people observed Barack Obama for 18 months now and they don't know what to believe? They realize that the change that he said that he was going to bring is not the change they thought he was going to bring. Not the change they thought they were :voting for.
I want to live, not merely survive
RUSH LIMBAUGH
Limbaugh: We know that technological advancement is going along at light speed. And yet during this period of time, whether it be the last 57 years or be it the last 20 years, it seems that a majority of the black population has remained angry, frustrated, and behind. They've been left behind. They are acting like they've been left behind, and of course we've heard that this is because of racism, natural systemic institutional racism in America, that we are unfair, that this country is just horrible and rotten.
And I won't give up this dream
REPRESENTATIVE GOHMERT
Gohmert also said the tragedy could have been lessened if someone else in the movie theater had been carrying a gun and took down the lone shooter. Istook noted that Colorado laws allow people to carry concealed guns.
Assault weapons, such as the AK-47, can actually be assembled with parts bought entirely online at so-called "build parties." Take it from Mother Jones reporter Bryan Schatz, who himself created one such AK-47, as seen in the above video. (AND HERE!)
Of life that keeps me alive
SPEAKER JOHN BONER
"When you look at all of this, what you see is an arrogance of power," Boehner said. "I believe that those of us in public office have a responsibility to be humble, to make sure that we represent the will of the people who sent us there, that we're honest with them."
I gotta be me, I gotta be me
MITCH MCCONNELL
“People were pretty demoralized, and there were two totally opposite thoughts on how to approach the situation,” a McConnell aide recalls. “One was, `we don't like the president, we ought to pop him early.’ The other was, `he’s really popular, we should work with him, because that’s what people want us to do.’ The boss’s take was: Neither." McConnell realized that it would be much easier to fight Obama if Republicans first made a public show of wanting to work with him.
The dream that I see makes me what I am
BRITT HUME
“Barack Obama is a liberal,” Hume continued. “I don’t think he’s a radical, but he is an out and out liberal. And now, newly reelected, he intends to pursue the course of that liberalism."
That far-away prize, a world of success
ALEX JONES
Of course there’s weather weapon stuff going on — we had floods in Texas like fifteen years ago, killed thirty-something people in one night. Turned out it was the Air Force.
Is waiting for me if I heed the call
ALLEN WEST
“Genesis Chapter 16, verses 11-12 states, ‘And the Angel of the Lord said to her (Hagar): Behold you are with child, and you shall bear a son, you shall call his name Ishmael, because the Lord has heard your affliction. He shall be a wild man; His hand shall be against everyman, and every man’s hand against him. And he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.'
I won't settle down, won't settle for less
DICK CHENEY
Cheney questioned why the consulate was not better protected and compared the procedure that he saw to what he and President Bush had in place in years prior. “Especially after 9/11, we were always there, locked and loaded, ready to go on 9/11. We have specially-trained units that practice this thing all the time. They are very good at it and they are chomping at the bit to go.” He asked, “Why weren’t provisions made to have forces within range and just an hour away from Benghazi. Why weren’t they deployed and ready to go to take action in any of those areas in the Middle East or North Africa? It makes no sense."
As long as there's a chance that I can have it all
DONALD RUMSFELD
I think [Obama] has made a practice of trying to apologize for America, Rumsfeld said.
I'll go it alone, that's how it must be
JOHN YOO
As a result, interrogations of detainees captured in the war on terrorism are not regulated under Geneva. This is not to condone torture, which is still prohibited by the Torture Convention and federal criminal law. Nonetheless, Congress's definition of torture in those laws--the infliction of severe mental or physical pain--leaves room for interrogation methods that go beyond polite conversation. Under the Geneva Convention, for example, a POW is required only to provide name, rank, and serial number and cannot receive any benefits for cooperating.
I can't be right for somebody else
MICHELE BACHMANN
That’s why you saw the House of Representatives pass my bill, the full repeal of Obamacare last week, and that’s why I have renewed confidence that we can see this bill pass in the Senate and I think the President will ultimately be forced to repudiate his own signature piece of legislation because the American people will demand it.
And I think before his second term is over, we’re going to see a miracle before our eyes, I believe God is going to answer our prayers and we’ll be freed from the yoke of Obamacare. I believe that’s going to happen and we saw step one last week with the repeal of Obamacare in the House. We have two more steps. We serve a mighty God and I believe it can Happen.
If I'm not right for me
SENATOR INHOFE
Sen. Inhofe said: "Well actually the Genesis 8:22 that I use in there is that “as long as the earth remains there will be springtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, day and night.”
"My point is, God’s still up there. The arrogance of people to think that we, human beings, would be able to change what He is doing in the climate is to me outrageous."
I gotta be free, I've gotta be free
TED CRUZ
Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), who recently took credit for blocking the Senate background checks legislation during a speech to the Tea Party group FreedomWorks, delivered another fiery defense of gun rights at the NRA’s annual convention in Houston Friday. Cruz slammed President Obamafor disregarding the Constitution and challenged Vice President Joe Biden to a debate over which type of gun a better for self-protection: a semi-automatic assault rifle or a shotgun.
Daring to try, to do it or die
CURLY RAND PAUL
Nor is this a particularly new position for Sen. Paul. In a 2002 letter to his hometown newspaper, Paul wrote that “[a] free society will abide unofficial, private discrimination – even when that means allowing hate-filled groups to exclude people based on the color of their skin."
I'VE GOTTA BE ME!

Bob Dole also said that the GOP should be closed for repairs. I just love that quote. I hope it shows up in political adds. Time to close the GOP for repairs.

Thank you Flavius.
Thank you very very much!
No kidding!
I swear this stupid blog took me almost a week. hahahahaha

Excellent, Richard! Bravo! It's a keeper. (Those people are even more terrifying when they're all together.)
I understand the use of "I Gotta be Me", and it works there, but I hate seeing my Sammy in that company. I ADORED Sammy's voice, even when his getup was ludicrous--as it is in that clip. But nobody does it better than he does in the vocal department. Sublime.

Somehow the song got into my head last week and I could not get it out!
I was not intending to slam ole Sammy.
It just struck me that all these folks are ego-maniacal; they really only believe in themselves; they lack the ability to see themselves as other see them; they refuse to question even a few of their 'beliefs'; they seem unable to sympathize with other perspectives or other people who are not like them; they refuse to research several sources prior to reaching a conclusion...
I know that I might be challenged on the same basis except that on issues relating to the pipeline, to abortion, to birth control for minors, to religion and politics, and on a number of other issues I become troubled at times. I want to check some sources other than my normal sources.
At least on one of ten issues a McCain will demur from the consensus of his flock.
Many dems (in my opinion) will think twice about this vote or that vote.
Oh that is enough of that.
Sammy was one talented man!

Didn't mean to undermine your focus. It was brilliant. But listening to Sammy made me nostalgic, and I wanted to keep him away from that crazy mob!
