Some Bits of News and Revelations You'll Want to Know About

I'm pressed for time just now, so I put these items into a potpourri of descriptions and links.  Something for everyone here, I think; but only two pieces of Good News.

EPA whistle-blower Hugh Kaufman is a senior policy analyst at the EPA's Office of Solid Waste and Emergency Response was on Olbermann claiming the EPA has been covering for BP, though he won't say how high up the chain it goes.  Also more MMS perfidy:  ;-(

A 1993 Document reveals that the US military has been 'concerned' about the health hazards of depleted uranium used in bombs; a memo from Eric Shinseki (fired for telling the truth about the troops numbers he deemed necessary to win the Iraq War) orders testing and training of soldiers handling the stuff.  Neither order was implemented.  What health problems will surface even more in the future for our soldiers; we know some of the results in Iraq.  ;-(

The deal Turkey and Brazil negotiated with Iran to swap uranium for enriched but monitored uranium is back in the works.  It got stalled when the White House bristled about the deal; looks like it's back on track as a step toward a deal, if all goes well.  ;-)

An estimated one million gallons of oil have leaked from a broken pipeline into the Kalamazoo River in Southern Michigan; Governor Granholm call for cleanup help so the oil doesn't reach Lake Michigan:   ;-(

And last, 'It's Only Natural to Be Sexually Attracted to Yourself' (just for something lighter or creepier, depending on your comfort level...or not...with the 'relatives' part of the subject).  But I liked the first sentence: it gives new meaning to: 'I'm too sexy for my shirt, Milan, my car...'

and the song; lots of the news above makes ya want to put your head in the oven; this is some counter-weight; ...OR IS IT?
