All the republicans have been doing over the last six years is sobbing over the election and re-election of Barack Hussein Obama.
Mr. Obama was not qualified to run for President of these United States of America because he was not and is not an American citizen.
Mr. Obama worshipped with a radical anti-white Christian minister.

I was going to do about fifteen more of these examples of slander but who cares?
It is just that this last one from THE BEAST really got to me.
Yeah, President Obama is going to declare martial law.
Any day now, anyway now, I shall be released?
Now to be fair (and I am almost never fair) the left called for the impeachment and the imprisonment of GWB and (of course) his Vice as a war criminal. hahahahah And many of us did not believe that GWB was actually elected in 2000 and that GWB hated Black Folks and that…..
Anyway, I have been elated lately over these attempts by my President to approach Cuba.
I am astounded by these measures.
Really!
Health insurance is a mess but kids and ten million (or twenty million folks) have health insurance that would not have health insurance.
The rich have had to pay a few extra dollars in taxes.
The American auto industry has risen to heights no one could have predicted ten years ago.
Unemployment has come down from 11% to about 5.5%?
Remember that Mitt promised to increase employment in this nation by ten million workers in his first term? Well Mr. Obama will match that by the end of his current term. (in my humble opinion)
The Stock Markets have doubled or tripled over the last six years?
The rich are getting richer even though they hate this Islamic communist.
But I really feel, that in fifty years, historians will look back at this new approach with Cuba as one big fucking deal!
THERE IS NO CRYING IN BASEBALL FOR CHRISSAKES.
HA

Great piece, DD. I think you probably could have easily found a trillion more articles to add to these, but, as you say, who cares? One would think the level of hatred and vindictiveness from the GOP has to stop at some point, but probably won't until they lose a few more Presidential elections. Funnily, as the years have gone by, the stories about Obama have gotten crazier and crazier, but there doesn't seem to be a limit to how crazy a story has to be that it won't be embraced and believed whole-heartedly by the GOP base. It's a fascinating look at the mindset of the GOP base; willing to believe any and everything about their opponents, but nothing about their own party members.
P.S. I was googling the other day and came across this from Forbes magazine in 2012. Even Forbes admits Dems are better for the economy than Republicans. hahahaha
P.P.S. I love the Band and the Last Waltz!

Hi Mr. Smith.
After my nap again. hahahah
I figure I have ten years.
No indications of problems, you understand.
BUT THE END IS NEAR. hahahaha
I loves the Last Waltz.
Of course.
As far as repubs, there is no end.

I remember when The Band came on Saturday Night Live to promote The Last Waltz. It was supposed to be their last TV appearance, although they re-formed a few years later. I was working on the show as an NBC page, and got to go the after-party, which, that week, was at a restaurant in Greenwich Village called One Fifth (Its address was 1 Fifth Ave.) The show ended at 1AM, and the party started as soon as people could get from 30 Rock to One Fifth Ave. (about 45 blocks). My friend Ed and I got there and discovered most of the members of the band standing near the door like wallflowers. We started talking to them and instead of being rock star types, they turned out to be regular guys and quite approachable. They even invited us to come see them in Woodstock. I was a bit leery of this as I thought they were just blowing smoke and really weren't being so open to people they just met. My friend Ed, being a bit more naive and slightly crazy, decided to take them up on it, and a few weeks later showed up at their house in Woodstock (Big Pink). Instead of being barred by bodyguards, he was invited in and spent the weekend lazing about with the group; they even asked him to look after their kids while they went out for some groceries. Ed came back to work the following week with quite a story to tell. I wish I had gone with him.

Just like Ducky. haaahahha

I was so very shy when I was younger. I still am to some degree I suppose. But I never felt comfortable with what I always assumed was intruding on people's privacy. So discovering 4 members of a rock group at a party that seemed to be doing what I usually do at parties, (shyly standing in a corner, not saying much), was quite a pleasant surprise. And, of course, in the back of my mind was the thought that "there are all these celebrities here, why are they talking to me?" hahahaha
by MrSmith1 on Sun, 04/12/2015 - 6:13pm
Good points all, Dick, though you always point in the right (left?) direction. Yeah, Republicans love to keep poking their hornet's nest, but only the hornets care. Won't be long before they switch from Obama to Hillary Clinton - won't that be fun?
by barefooted on Sun, 04/12/2015 - 6:13pm
Oh, I suspect that will be an easy pivot, Missy.
by MrSmith1 on Sun, 04/12/2015 - 6:14pm
No doubt. But they'll be stuck with more common, boring, political stuff - nothing like having an illegal Muslim fascist/nazi/communist America-hating black man to pick on! And I imagine they're in a frenzy trying to figure out how to attack a woman without appearing misogynistic. Just imagine ...
by barefooted on Sun, 04/12/2015 - 6:46pm
hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
That's all I got.
hahahahahahahah
A woman for President of these United States of America?
WHO IS KIDDING WHOM?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
My God, I hope so.
by Richard Day on Sun, 04/12/2015 - 7:14pm
Oh come on, that's too easy. They've been using the Lady Macbeth scenario on Hillary since they started saying she killed Vince Foster back in the 1990's. They'll attack her the way they attack all women, by saying she's a manipulative b*tch that can't be trusted. It's the playbook they've been using since women got the vote.
by MrSmith1 on Sun, 04/12/2015 - 8:27pm
We can only hope they use that dog-earred playbook! What a wonderful election season that would be. But I doubt they're that stupid - or that obvious.
by barefooted on Sun, 04/12/2015 - 8:52pm
Well, if you are going to cite Dylan and the Band on this topic, it would be remiss to forget the Million Dollar Bash:

My God I love this song.
It reminded me of:
by Richard Day on Sun, 04/12/2015 - 7:09pm
Yes, there are interesting comparisons between the songs. But the party at the bash is much larger than what is happening in the garage.
by moat on Sun, 04/12/2015 - 7:17pm
Fuck the garage.
Let us hit the road.

I embedded this, of course.
But the third playing of this song, really got to me.
This is really goooooooooood.
This is wonderful Lulu.
It just reminds me of this lilt I have played a few times; but it is certainly darker:
I like your song and I love this song.
the end

Oh there is one more song....
I was watching free TV, even though I know there is nothing FREE. Here is the old song that meant a lot to me a long time ago. We have the government we are stuck with....hahahahah
But here it is:

I have to add this Moat.
I have come back to listen to THE BASH at least ten times in two days.
Thank you because I forgot about this song.
This song lifts my spirits as it were.
Thank you.
by Richard Day on Tue, 04/14/2015 - 2:14pm
There is comedy at play in the song which is very peculiar and inviting.
by moat on Thu, 04/23/2015 - 8:44pm
Two days later.
Very peculiar and inviting. hahahahha
You write so well
And we are in the age of ....twitter?
I just love this line.
Thank you.

It certainly been a historic weekend. Hillary's announcement did take the focus off of the Pan American Conference. It won't take too long for President Obama to announce Cuba being taken off the terrorist list. I think the embassy is to open this summer. It will be a good will gesture either before or at the same time.
I thought I would wander over to Red State and take a little look. I haven't been there in a while. I expected lots of hate going on with this weekend events but was surprised to see not many comments. Just to let you know, you had more going on then Eric Erickson. There was no mention of President Obama's meeting with Castro. Their complaints against HRC lacked depth. We had better critics here that was looking under her hood then what Red State could come up with. Rinse and Spin wrote a shallow piece asking for help to form a grass roots effort to stop HRC. He squeezed a bunch of old tired talking points into it. He is going to have to do better then that to rally up a campaign against her. So what I actually read was a lot of stupid instead of actual hard hitting commentary.
We will have to see how HRC rolls out her campaign this month. So far the clown car has had nothing but messy roll outs. Oh and the Republicans are convinced that 29% of the Democratic party is up for grabs so they think they have a chance with the 29%. Only I am not sure what 29% they are talking about?

Like I attempted to point out, we cannot get what we want, but if we try, and we really try, we can get what we need.
We need Hillary right now.
She is a woman of course.
She has been a life long Democrat.
She really stands by the beliefs of the Left, including me.
She has experience beyond most powerful people in this country.
Hillary is what I want.
Not just what I need.
But who am I?
I like Warren, I like Webb (for heaven's sake), I like this other fellow from Maryland and I certainly love Sanders.
But I think Hillary can do the job,I think Hillary can win and we really do need a female leader in my humble opinion.
Why am I going on and on like this?
Probably because I always go on and on. hhahaha
by Richard Day on Mon, 04/13/2015 - 12:24pm
I agree with you. But all the things you listed that they ranted and raved about got me thinking about how was they going to top that with HRC. The crazies just dove right off the cliff day one with 2008's primary. When Obama won, they went into complete suicide mode. So since her running was not a surprise, I expected to see their derangement about the Clintons to be front and center the first day. Their response was quite weak or maybe it is because I have heard all of it for the last 20 years.
