What Should Be Illegal: Targetting Children

I've had alot of words put in to my mouth wherever I have talked about regulating psychiatric medication, including here (though it's been the tamest here - elsewhere some have accused me of being some sort of Christian Scientist or Scientologist, the latter of which I guess I can see).

I want to show exactly, point blank, what is wrong with modern psychiatry and health care in general - right here:

That is direct, point blank advertising toward children. It is stuff like that that has led to infants being put on antipsychotic medication. This should be against the law. People who participate in it are the ones with mental health problems.

Forcing drugs on anyone is like rape or molestation - you are violating someone else's body. What the American Academy of Pediatrics is promoting is the violation of children's minds and bodies on a massive scale. Parents and doctors who allow this to happen are old enough to know better. Any patients who see an advertisement like this should try to boycott the doctor or establishment who allows it. This is a serious human rights violation. This will not be looked upon well twenty years from now.

There used to be laws in this country against advertising pharmaceuticals at all - even ones people need for their health. We used to know that drug companies were motivated by profit and would do exactly what is seen above. Those laws didn't stop people who need medication from getting it, it wasn't a "War On Drugs" - it limited drug companies so that they couldn't hawk unnecessary medication on the vulnerable. It doesn't mean that we will get rid of psychiatry as a practice or even psych meds - just that common sense regulations, like we have for most everything else in society, would be put in place.

Now we have a society that advertises mind-bending psych meds to young children and allows drugs never tested for safety on children to rape their minds, which have not even begun to develop. This is sick.
