Hmmm. (and no; I didn't intend the pun--nice catch, lol!) I thought maybe it was more about being Muslim, but I meant in the study itself. 'Biden' as the nearest equivalency' even seemed strange. I dunno; myabe I just don't quite get a study like this.

I have a nice planet earth flag I'd take to peace walks; it never failed to amaze me (slow-learner) how much it enraged some people. UnAmerican, it was deemed, as though it were a Bad Thing to care for the fate and well-being of all of us. Ah, well...

Obviously, many people are very into Americanism, but in this case, I think the term serves mostly as a socially-acceptable substitute for race.

I'd love to see the accepted questions that probe for hidden prejudice and/or racism.

The other thing that strikes me is often the theme of being an 'American' is through this piece and study, and apparently the screeds woven through birther-ism. I confess I don't listen to it much, but it's a bit foreign to me that Americanism' is such a huge deal. I must not be very nationalistic in the end... call DoHS...
