Was Superman actually a US Citizen in the first place? He was born in Kenya on Krypton and entered the country as an infant. Neither of his natural parents were citizens, and I don't think adoption conferred citizenship until 2000.

I think it's more than "fun". When this kind of message makes its way into pop culture, (aka: comics), it's showing a more important cultural shift, IMO. that said, we'll wait with baited breath to see whether the writer of said episode gets more work from Action Comics.
