And it's really not just an interesting resemblance in behavior. Many corporate heads and such are famously psychopaths in the clinical sense. What I think has happened is that nurturing empathy and thereby suppressing psychopathic tendencies has fallen to the wayside, to the point where western society actually enables psychopaths, encourages them, promotes them, honors them. And this is the result: they destroy the world.

Wed, 25 May 2011 23:09:20 +0000 Obey comment 121848 at http://dagblog.com It may sound like it that http://dagblog.com/comment/121846#comment-121846
In reply to This bit - bigwigs at the EU

It may sound like it that makes the assumption that they are other wise normal - for lack of a better term. The problem in Autism spectrum disorders is often regarded as one of having too much empathy - being too sensitive to social signals and emotional expression in others. Aspies are known for forming extremely close relationships with others.

Wed, 25 May 2011 22:34:38 +0000 Obey comment 121841 at http://dagblog.com I don't remember reading http://dagblog.com/comment/121836#comment-121836
In reply to But the article is equating

I don't remember reading anywhere where it says that at all. Just did a grep on the whole thing and the terms jerk and self-absorbed are not there.

Wed, 25 May 2011 22:23:31 +0000 cmaukonen comment 121836 at http://dagblog.com But the article is equating http://dagblog.com/comment/121833#comment-121833
In reply to Oh Donal.
