They say it is just an urban legend.

But I think it was in the early seventies that Carson learned his entire archive had been erased and taped over. So most of his stuff is lost forever--at least the first decade!

You're right, Carson wouldn't have said penis, he just said that when you get to the Slauson Cutoff, get out of your car and cut off your Slauson ...

P.S. When I was in college, I actually saw a piece of graffitti written on one of the bathroom stalls in the music and drama building that said: "This school is non-profit, it wasn't meant to be, it just turned out that way."
