So you're going to judge the action of those Dems based on the overall actions of all Dems?

Not sure what you're asking. I'm thinking once again of the Dem leadership's decision in december not to raise the debt ceiling during the lame duck session. Instead of trading a tax cut for a hike in the debt ceiling they traded a tax cut for a tax cut, remember? And the reasoning was, they wanted the GOP to take responsibility for spending cuts. So I'm judging those actions on the basis of ... those actions.

If you think that was a smart decision, and by implication that spending cuts are needed, good for you. If you on the other hand are saying Dem centrists would have voted against raising the debt ceiling if asked to in December, you're bonkers. But let's not pretend the Democratic party leadership actually opposes spending cuts. You don't hand Boehner a loaded gun and then get to complain about what he 'forces' you to do.

If the Dems are going to have something remotely close to a majority, they are going to have to include those who are closer to the repubs than the socialists. (AND HERE WE GO) Your ILK want a party where there is ideological purity. God forbid if there are those who don't toe the party line. If they don't we're doomed. Maybe, just maybe, we can accept a victory as part of the baby step forward and build on it, rather than dissing it because not everyone within the BIG TENT agrees.

Only 41 dems can be bothered even to pretend opposing a de facto repeal of the only worthwhile part of the Health Care bill - Medicaid expansion. The other 12 don't even want to be on record as defenders of Medicaid. Wow. That's a bit pathetic.

Of course they'll cave. They handed the GOP the debt-ceiling card back in december for a reason. They want cuts as well, they just want republican cover for 'em.
