Obviously she won't be president. We can hope her campaign remains active long enough that she can't run for re-election, and, in the meantime mess up Gov Romney.

In any event, she truly is evil incarnate, though representative of many of our fellow citizens in this land. Her mission in life has been to reform her nominal husband (who, btw, is proof that gay people can in fact marry without destroying the institution with it, though apparently, they have to marry members of the opposite sex, which defeats the purpose, I think.)

Her platform is that the dumbasses are entitled to representation, but I really think they are over-represented in Congress already. (Louis Gomert alone puts them over the top).

Perhaps she's operating under a version of the "God helps those that help themselves" theory, which, extrapolated out, says that if God hasn't helped you, then you obviously haven't been helping yourself, so you're a slacker, and therefore, you deserve to suffer. This group's mottos are : "If God hasn't seen fit to help you, why are you bugging me?" and "Petitioners whom God has already turned down, need not apply."

Well Flower you already know that there are deeply committed Christians who are not part of any teaparty movement who asked this question.

I think Bachmann's universe is one in which those who do not give themselves to Christ will suffer for their sins and do not deserve treatment.

Otherwise, if you do not accept this Pat Robertson approach to life, there is only chaos.

I think she has the perspective that the poor will always be with us and those poor deserve to be poor! There is tragedy in all of this.

Having a migraine headache is an awful thing to go through. I have very little experience with them myself, but I did have a cousin that would call me occasionally and ask me to pick him up from work after one would "balloon" in his head, as he explained it, being unable to drive himself home because of the pain. Sometimes I would drive him directly to the hospital emergency room.

So, as much as I dislike Rep. Bachmann's political views, I am sorry to learn she gets these debilitating headaches.

But, it makes me wonder....

The articles say she had to curtail some functions to seek treatment at nearby hospitals.

She had/has health insurance, I am sure, to cover that expense. A single trip to the ER adds up to hundreds, even thousands, of dollars. Three Maxalt tablets (a migraine medication) can cost a $100. Three pills!

However, migraine headaches afflict all socio-economic groups. They are an equal opportunity offender.

How can Rep. Bachmann justify receiving and paying for medical treatment for her own migraine headaches while that same ability for others afflicted with the same condition is denied simply because they cannot afford the premiums to pay for health insurance of their own?

She has stated that she is on a Teabagging mission to destroy the Affordable Care Act so that the less affluent have virtually nothing between them and medical treatment. That $100 for three pills can yank a working stiff's budget out of whack for months.

How can Rep. Bachmann be unsympathetic to those who suffer the same painful symptoms as she? Is it because she thinks poor people aren't good enough to warrant the help?

Why is it okay with her for the working poor to be in debilitating pain because the cost of health insurance is out of reach for them, or that the cost of needed treatment is artificially high?

One would think there would be some empathy from her. Wouldn't one?

Just wondering...
