That's interesting. The two things that surprise me the most are the education percentages and the ages. Only 29% HS or less. That's pretty shocking. Same with the ages. Only 23% are younger than 45. Goes to show that education and age aren't always wisdom producers.

I believe that there have been a number of polls done that show that at least the most active of the tea party are from upper income brackets. They had at least one on TPM a while back.

This kind of thing just sickens me. There is nothing sacred anymore, including last wills and testaments. Greed is going to be the death of us yet.

I don't know if I can agree that integration and white flight brought about the Tea Party. They're all about keeping government out of their lives unless it benefits them. Then it's okay. I'm not sure how many of them live in gated communities, but I think they're the height of snootiness. There's a "gated community" in Myrtle Beach, complete with guard at the gate, but the fences behind the houses are so low they don't even keep dogs out! lol.

(Just a little something here: I lived the first house off of 12th street in Detroit when I was in junior high. Now it's Rosa Parks Boulevard. I like that.)

It's a shame that this has happened to her stuff. It really should be where she wanted it to be. If not there maybe at the Smithsonian.

The civil rights movement is very key to everything that is happening today. In the south it was purely along racial lines but in the northern cities and suburbs along class lines as well.

The forced integration of schools and businesses spawned what we now know as the tea party movement. Whites - especially the rich ones - could no longer keep their nice upper crust white suburban schools all white so they fled to private schools. Who could no longer keep their white suburban communities white so they fled to gated communities with restrictive covenants and home owners associations. White flight.

Now they want to make sure that those they believe are beneath them get nothing.
