In fairness to John Bolton, he never said he wanted to blow up the entire UN headquarters. He said losing 10 of its 38 storeys wouldn't make any difference.

So he would have left nearly three-quarters of the building intact. Admittedly, the floors he wanted destroyed were the bottom 10, which might have left the structure a bit wobbly.

We've already touched on that a bit elsewhere, but I believe one of our guys plans a pretty intensive follow-up soon. Expect that post to find its way over here too. We do a lot of work and worrying about domestic issues, but we're all IR nerds at heart at the Mob.

See I read it and all I see was the unconfirmed U.S. Ambassador to the UN under Bush, John R. Bolton who wished to see the UN building blown up.
