She's making millions off her celebrity, whereas as Governor, she'd be saddled with a stagnant salary, having to play the mommy with the legislature and always having to duck issues that went against the grain of policy and law whenever she did things her way.

I believe she's riding a wave of money at the moment. And like all waves the energy potential begins to wane the closer one is to the shore. I suspect her popularity is past its peak and she realizes she need to exert more effort to glean more money out the pockets of her supporters before she becomes just another persona in the annals of history.

So long as she is in demand and receives the speaker fee she requires, we'll be saddled with her in the news. But there will come a time where the demand for her will diminish and she will just another politician that lost her power over public opinion.

What's more interesting is politicans who are past their prime can garner speaking fees based on their past performances. Palin never made it to that plateau so future fees she demands won't be anything near what Clinton, Bu$h II or Carter receive. She'll slowly fade from the scene, just like Geraldine Ferraro ... Mondale's VP choice in 1984.

Thu, 01 Sep 2011 13:02:59 +0000 Beetlejuice comment 133199 at http://dagblog.com You must be from the MSM, http://dagblog.com/comment/132557#comment-132557
In reply to Just saw a new poll from

You must be from the MSM, since the one person not mentioned is #4 - Ron Paul

The big result from this poll (if it the PPP poll you're talking about) is that Perry is beating Romney. While Palin might have been able to deal with a Bachmann who was trying to tack to the center while smoozing the anarchist patriots, she couldn't count on someone coming out and out wing-nutting her (can wing-nut be turned into a verb?). Just waiting for Perry to give a speech about how much he loves America with a turkey being sent into the grinder behind him. If she joins the field, she will pull slightly from Bachmann and Paul supporters but have virtually no impact on Perry and Romney, according to the results of the survey. Though her media presence has increased in recent weeks, her net favorability rating has dropped 12 points since June to plus 16.

Wed, 24 Aug 2011 04:21:50 +0000 Elusive Trope comment 132557 at http://dagblog.com Just saw a new poll from http://dagblog.com/comment/132548#comment-132548
In reply to Well, Dairy Queen is

Just saw a new poll from Iowa.
