Certainly in fairy tales. Probably from the earliest times.</p> <p>Television graphically depicts horrific scenes. When we were children (at least my generation) we were obliged to envision them, listening to the words, using our imaginations. </p> <p>I've watched and read a good bit of Anime and Manga (grandchildren, you know), and find it fascinating. Children are drawn to the pith of things. But I have watched digimon with grand kids on cartoon network. It was OK for kids to watch. My oldest who is in college just told me he watches Monga anime from Japan that is not for little kids on the internet.
