I don't know how, or why that always happens (sorta like your 360 degree reflection), but the nice phones always fall, or fail. The one phone you wouldn't miss too much always sticks around....maybe for beautiful stories such as this one.

Mon, 10 Oct 2011 11:45:58 +0000 Sderiff comment 136811 at http://dagblog.com I lost everything but managed http://dagblog.com/comment/136615#comment-136615
In reply to Farewell, Little Phone

I lost everything but managed to keep the phone through generosity of others.

I had that phone for at least a decade.

It did nothing but ring and keep messages.

My daughter sent me a new one a few years ago. I guess it messages and advertisements come on it with no warning. You still have to open it up for chrissakes and I checked the other day and I regularly get messaging that I never have responded to. I mean all the messages are ads.

I am on my daughter's family plan and they recently got my son to join in. He received--for free--something that looks like an IPOD and he is fingering it like it is a new girl friend (oops, I think that is pornographic or something)

I just watched some doc where kids who are 3 or 4 years old work these new phones with no cover with their fingers and find whole universes out there.

Why would anyone wish to watch a movie on a little phone?

Oh well.

It was hard for me to throw that old phone away from the 90's.

You dialed and received messages (oral) and you reached your destination.

Phones are phones no longer. They are tiny computers for young people with good vision.

Fri, 07 Oct 2011 20:59:55 +0000 Richard Day comment 136615 at http://dagblog.com Congratulations, Dr. And http://dagblog.com/comment/136541#comment-136541
In reply to Farewell, Little Phone

Congratulations, Dr. And thanks for a very good story.

Fri, 07 Oct 2011 11:32:15 +0000 Oxy Mora comment 136541 at http://dagblog.com Nice story. I recently got a new phone, too. For my morning swims in the summer, I got in the habit of throwing some shorts over my jammers, and instead of changing in the locker room, just taking off my shorts, shirt and sandals at the edge of the pool. Unfortunately one morning, my shorts caught on one foot, and my flip phone catapulted out of the pocket, bounced twice and dove into the water. It was amazing that with 360 degrees around me, the phone took the direct angle to the pool.

I dried the phone in the sun, then in rice, but the buttons never worked right again, so now I have this iPhone wannabe from Tracfone.

Fri, 07 Oct 2011 10:12:39 +0000 Donal comment 136539 at http://dagblog.com Congratulations and many long http://dagblog.com/comment/136522#comment-136522
In reply to Farewell, Little Phone

Congratulations and many long years together.

Fri, 07 Oct 2011 03:24:30 +0000 trkingmomoe comment 136522 at http://dagblog.com Thanks, http://dagblog.com/comment/136521#comment-136521
In reply to I am coming home.
