Here's a good take on the unemployment numbers by Mish.

Unemployment went down officially because the size of the labor force went down in November by almost 500,000. More people have given up, and dropped out of the labor force altogether. They are thus no longer officially "unemployed".

The civilian population rose by 172,000 - well more than the number of jobs created.

The U-6 unemployment rate stands at 15.6%

The participation rate fell .2%, and is now at 64%.

George Bush misapplied the term "turd blossom" to Karl Rove because the term requires a person to hold two opposing images in mind at the same time---cow dung vs. flowers

I just tidied up the teaser for the home page. Btw, your articles always come in with a 14px font, and I have to change them to 13px. I added a new "dagblog:13" option to the font-size selector in the toolbar. In the future, would you mind highlighting the text and selecting 13px font when you post? Thanks.
