Another way is to make Lincoln only a minor character (he seems kind of flat anyway) and really develop some fresh and vivid characters in a parallel drama. Maybe some folks who are caught up in the online slave auctions.

Thu, 15 Dec 2011 19:42:24 +0000 Rootman comment 143536 at http://dagblog.com Great concept and well http://dagblog.com/comment/143516#comment-143516
In reply to Midnight's Last Gleaming, Chap. 12

Great concept and well written. As good as it is, I'm not sure I personally could keep my ADD mind wrapped around it for a full length novel. So I'll make a suggestion from my own reader's perspective--which is, to perhaps interleave these as flashbacks somehow against a straight overall narrative of a contemporary President in crisis who somehow has access to this as a kind of harbinger or muse. 50% of your work is done in the fine ending and other vignette---which I would put in the middle connected to the handling of the crisis. Really fascinating.

Thu, 15 Dec 2011 14:28:10 +0000 Oxy Mora comment 143516 at http://dagblog.com Brilliant! http://dagblog.com/comment/143295#comment-143295
In reply to Midnight's Last Gleaming, Chap. 12

Brilliant!

Mon, 12 Dec 2011 13:24:48 +0000 Anonymous comment 143295 at http://dagblog.com Weirdest thing I ever read. http://dagblog.com/comment/143282#comment-143282
In reply to Midnight's Last Gleaming, Chap. 12

Weirdest thing I ever read.

Mon, 12 Dec 2011 05:23:57 +0000 Richard the Electrician comment 143282 at http://dagblog.com
