Consider it considered. Libya provided the template for turning "Responsibility to Protect" into "regime change." The same cast of characters is following the same game plan here, except that this time Russia and China aren't buying in, so any intervention will at least lack UN authorization.

Now that the "peaceful protesters" have started using suicide bombers and Al-Qa'ida has given the rebellion its seal of approval, I wonder if any of the western nations that have been so quick to back what they anoint "the Syrian people" will have second thoughts. Probably not. For those leading the call to military intervention, Damascus is just a steppingstone to Tehran.
