The Republican base loathe that fancy education that brings such ideas as evolution, climate science, and the like. However, you're right that many of the Republican elite are more than happy to provide it for their own children because they know it provides a competitive edge.

As for "rewarding Obama", I suggest that you're thinking about it the wrong way. Trying to punish Obama by electing Romney would be like trying to punish an unfair teacher by failing his/her class. Punishment and retribution is a little too Old Testament for me. I want to think about what's best for our country, especially the working class. Electing Romney would not help the working class. Let's focus on solutions, not on who to blame for our problems.

Obamas ready to bail out, over indebted students, but ignored the plight of the less fortunate, who owned homes and have lost billions.

Now that Obama realizes, he's lost a lot of his earlier voters...because the man turned out to be a wolf in sheep clothing; now when he needs to find a base to get out and help get him reelected.

Obama has found, his promising rhetoric wont work with the working class; that watched Obama stand by while many lives were dashed, their hopes and aspirations for a better retirement lost (STOLEN BY WALL STREET)

Obama knows his BS wont work with us older voters, so he travels around the country politicking to the younger naive students, telling them how Obama feels your pain. MORE BS selling it to students in hopes he can get them to trun out and reelect Obama.

Obama, flying around the country on the taxpayer dollar to promote lower costs to college grads, is Obama desperation to fire up some base of support.

Dude. It's not either/or. It's not black/white. It's not good/evil. Don't oversimplify.

Obama explicitly said that he wasn't talking about just a four year degree. He explicitly included trade schools. Education is a good thing, both collectively and individually. Obama's point was that it shouldn't be a choice between a house and an education. Education should be affordable. Everyone can benefit from having a better education, and society benefits as well.

As for your Microsoft hiring foreign grads, that's exactly the reason we need better educated students.

Defending the college grad is not "Republican-lite". Republicans loathe that fancy education. Do Republicans speak your language?

That rhetorical flourish of a question is not meant to be taken literally. It's meant to illustrate how ridiculous your accusation towards me was. We're not natural enemies. B) Secondly, my attitude is not, "I've got mine, now get yours". It's more similar to "here's how I got mine, maybe you can do the same". I'm not suggesting an education is the only way, but having an education sure has made my life easier.

None of this has anything to do with Obama, other than him being right (and he's not alone) in stressing the importance of education.

I did manage to watch him on Fallon (I don't usually watch the show), and I did find his tap-dancing around his implication that science/technology was more important than the liberal arts.

The government should and was also commanded to protect the citizens ,it was entrusted to defend. In order to form a more perfect Union.

To protect life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

To protect against the depravation of the essentials of the real life.

Food, water shelter

College education is fine and dandy, but the majority of humanity has needs and college education will never replace the essentials.

Have those, who are now set for life, self- made because they have degrees, now so blind to the reality, of the suffering?

I get the disillusionment with Obama, but he's absolutely right about the value of a college education. I recently got downsized, but I was able to almost immediately find a job (at a higher salary) because of my education. People can take your house from you, but it's much harder to take your education.

Many people warned the democrats, dump the worthless pandering Obama. he's not worth defending.

Obama will not only lose his own reelection, but he's helped seal the fate of those in the House and Senate.

Look at how Obama, is pandering for the students votes; fearing he may not have the excitement of the base, in order to be reelected.

Now he panders to the same kids, whose folks lost their asset class; the homes that were leveraged to finance the kids college education.

Obama: "Kids don't look at what I did, just listen to my phony words."

Obama is mentally corrupt; a college education is not anywheres the value of having a roof overhead.

Obama allowed the real estate sector. an industry that provided 19% of the Nations GDP to sink.

Our homes were our bank; and Obama failed to protect us homeowners .

Obama is still trying to help his banker friends, who fear student loan defaults, will disrupt Obama' banker friends prosperity.

Obama didn't give a crap about the homeowners and he really doesn't give a crap about the kids, who may have lived in those homes; he only wants to make sure his banker friends are not hurt, when the defaults hit the fan.

Obama pretending to care; may even bring him votes, from those with student loans.

When in reality, it's the bankers he's more interested in protecting.
