If the story as he relates it is true, it was a  planned, calculated, self-serving act of defiance which allowed him to show his complete disdain for everyone other than himself.<br /><br /> 40 years later, Nugent re-writes the story so that he was not a punk hippie traitor, unwilling to serve his country in a time of war, he was an undercover patriot pretending to be a hippie so he could 'do his own thing,' which just happened to be NOT serving in the military, and at the same time saying, "Oh, I'd have been a great soldier, I'd have killed a lot of people, blah, blah, blah."  Is there anything more loathsome than a hypocritical Republican chicken-hawk?</p> </div></div></div> Fri, 27 Apr 2012 10:59:00 +0000 MrSmith1 comment 153218 at http://dagblog.com
