Thanks, VA. Somehow, I can't picture Joe Biden teasing gays or forcibly cutting someone's hair because it looks different. And the fact that I can't picture Joe, an avowed politician, doing anything outwardly or knowingly mean gives me the tiniest bit of hope. We live our entire lives under the control of politicians. I want at least a handful of them to be on our side.

Not sure if you mean Obama here, but I think he struggles all the time with what's right and what's expedient. Sometimes right wins and sometimes it doesn't. To say that nothing has been accomplished under his administration is foolish talk in my view, but to say that everything he's done is heroic is equally foolish.

Still, incredible obstacles and some maddening foot-dragging aside, I'm betting on Obama again. Every positive gain will be lost to us if Romney and the Republicans get a chance to do the things they're already threatening to do. I'll work hard to keep that from happening and I'll do it by supporting Obama and the Democrats.

Sure, I would like to see more liberal members of my party in positions of power, but that isn't happening. That's reality. We work with what we've got because the alternative is unacceptable--at least to me.

Absolutely. My wife likes to say that "nice goes a long way". Sure, we've all heard the road to hell is paved with good intentions and all that, but really that's more the exception than the rule. There are many more roads to hell paved with selfish intentions.
