LOL at Obama Derangement syndrome. It appears to me that derangement means a departure from reality, whereas my issues with Obama have been on his policy failures and failure to act that are factually based. The reality is we have a desperate candidate with his back to the wall who is willing to do anything to win. What will he do when he wins? Polish his centristy legacy by passing his grand bargain with no opposition from dens. There will be no pressure for that truly lamest of sucks to respond to. So I'll enjoy the pandering for single vote and Obama doing the things he had no power to do for the last 3 1/2 years. I'll let others praise his goodness for the crumbs thrown at their feet (only in election years). He has proven his agenda is that of a fairly moderate republican. I'm voting for the other moderate republican who will face liberal/democratic pressure in his next term: Romney. Too little, too late, too inauthentic, too craven, too pandering to expect any kudos for doing something only because his polling experts tell him to.

Actually, your comment makes me realize I wasn't that clear about what I was saying--I was was not saying don't arm twist, I was saying I don't like the idea of hating a president so much that you don't think results of arm twisting are real, and that's it worthless to arm twist (hence I mentioned activists giving up.)

It's the flip side of adoration of a president to hate him/her to distraction, and think nothing can be done but get rid of him/her, as I mentioned on another thread the other day. It's just as bad, it's the savior syndrome from either side, no acceptance of politicians as politicians, kinda delusional in light of thousand of years of history.

But then I'm one of those nutty moderates who reads news as well as blog spin, one who in doing so saw evidence that some Bush Derangement syndrome was real, and I do now from time to time see some evidence of Obama derangement syndrome totally removing people from reality on certain points.

I think you have it backwards. If the only time he does anything positive is when his arm is being twisted, why let up the pressure now? And again, all he did here is act before Rubio could have so it would be his accomplishment (even though legislation would have been a more permanent fix).

It's a long way to November. At this rate with his poor polling and desperation setting in, might get my unicorn any day now. Maybe he should have started soon the right thing 3 1/2 years ago instead of dicking around like the president has no power.
