Thanks so much for replying, Dr. Anon. We all hate that it's watered-down insurance reform rather than health reform, but it's baby steps forward and that's pretty remarkable, given that Big Business has taken over the business of health care for the last 30 to 40 years.

Maybe it's time for the doctors for Obamacare to organize and write their own headlines. There are plenty of us who would stand by you and attempt to spread the word. (I spent a good amount of time looking for just such an organization while I was writing this piece, and didn't find one.)

I'm a doctor and I support obamacare! It's not a perfect solution but it's better than claiming a broken system works. Unfortunately it really is insurance reform with some trickle down to health care, but again it's better than nothing.

Any one who tells you they don't want to bear the increase is simply not paying attention- you are already paying for it, we all are. Even if we limit our discussion to the outright financial. The US spends about the same amount per capita on health care as any other nation... and that's only the government dollars! We then double it with private sector insurance. Still most people don't have government benefits- so would you rather pay for something where you get a benefit- or pay for something where mostly others benefit?

Doctors for obamacare exist it's just not as easy to write headlines about us :)

Kidding of course. Britain celebrates a national health care system formed in the 1940's, based first on care, not profit, while I imagine the US could celebrate the NRA and our devotion to guns at our next Olympics. I used 'disconcerting' because that was the first word out of Mitt's mouth when he arrived and was interviewed about Olympic preparations.

I'm going to assume you're kidding. Our system can't possibly make you happier than a system that takes care of everyone. That is, unless you can profit from inadequate, overpriced health care. Then I might understand. I don't have to like it, but I would understand.

I'm watching the opening ceremony at the London Olympics, and I am frankly disconcerted by the celebration of the British National Health Service. Socialized medicine? Isn't this even worse than Obamacare?

Mitt Romney might have volunteered a few remarks to the Queen on why government cannot do health care like the private sector, but I'm not sure they'd let him close to her. Probably best for both of them, particularly Mitt.
