Unfortunately, their (particularly Ryan's) rhetoric plays to the most selfish and bad instincts of those who like their news in short snippets that they don't have to bother to read.

The poor are viewed as those sitting in their living rooms watching flat-screen TV's just waiting to cash in their "hand-outs.". Women wouldn't have so many problems if they would just behave themselves, marry young, and obey their husbands (who would all have good jobs with good insurance, because otherwise they are just lazy bums, no?). The military is sacrosanct because that is what makes America great!!!!

Oh! And by the way America is better than any other country because we believe in being completely independent unlike those Euro-trash people who take trains to work, have cradle-to-grave health care, and even PAID maternity leave --> how communist can you get?

Anyone who wants to regulate environmental polluters or out of control financial engineers is just plain Un-American, and in the President's case, he even HATES America.

In short, I really fear the Republicans are winning the message war because their lies are easier to digest than your well-reasoned facts. Please convince me I am wrong, somebody!!!!!!

Oh, I left out Medicare: What is reassuring about saying that you only intend to screw people under the age if 55? Is that supposed to be good news? For whom, the "non-screwed" 55ers and up? And as you explained, EVEN THAT isn't true. I just don't get it.

Fri, 24 Aug 2012 17:42:05 +0000 CVille Dem comment 162027 at http://dagblog.com
