"Carlos Rothschild" in CT, a commenter on Nate Silver's most recent post, has some "get real, people" uppers for you, and others who feel like you (and I get the impression Carlos is not an Obamabot, but rather, someone who takes betting very seriously and does his homework, and I kind of chuckled when I read it):

That sucks Oxy. . I don't know, some people just can't see what we see. But I want you to read this, the President is going to win. I am serious, I am more sure this time than I was last time and I was convinced he would win in 2008. Your in Texas, he won't win there, but he isn't going to win Wisconsin or Michigan or even Ohio and not Virginia. The ground game the President has is over and above what Mitt Romney has, and this is how elections are won..

This year I organized Teamsters and not Longshoreman, and even though I am in the bluest of the blue states a bunch of them are Republicans, okay were Republicans, now they are committed Obama voters. I promised no one was taking their guns.

So relax, I think it's going to be okay.

Turn off the television. Seriously. It's worthless. Nothing you see on television between now and election day is going to influence your vote or make you a more informed voter. You are probably just wrapped up in the sporting dimension of politics now.
