What with the foreign policy situation being as absurd as it is, I think there's also some small possibility that Mitt will make a classic about-face, declare his personal effort to bring transparency to the Libya situation a success, and spend the rest of the evening agreeing with Obama that being President is hard work.

Except for also saying that Iranian fear of a Republican frenzy is why the Iranians are now offering to negotiate with the USA.

And making up something about how his superior business skills make him more able to lull the Chinese into complacence, at which point he'll get all our money and jobs back for us.

I'm a little amazed that Mitt's managed to hang on foreign policy topics at all. By any measure, Obama's done an excellent job. Even the Benghazi disaster is something that only could have happened because Obama succeeded in Libya.

And, people forget this (and I don't know why) but the Republicans were cozying up to Qadaffi. They thought his stated intention to relinquish a nuclear weapons program that he didn't even have was proof of how well the neocon global intimidation policies were working.

And, of course, they were a disaster. And now it seems like, if Obama wins, that Iran might be willing to talk, which would be a great victory for us. But if Romney wins, I doubt talking is on the table as the Israeli birds will be in the air by January 20th.
