The appeal of freemarket thinking is the vast majority of the people in this country still have owning a big house and expensive car as their primary agenda. And they truly believe they will some day get one.

So forget OWS or protests or anything else. Delusion trumps all.

When we go on about how horrible the system is, we should keep in mind that democratic capitalism has provided the highest living standards for the largest number of people. For it to qualify as the democratic form of capitalism, we need reasonable government regulation of the market(and we need the social welfare state to compensate for the deficiencies of the market).
